4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Cletus (6182) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 17, 2009
Growler courtesy of garmonbozia. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells roasty with some burned licorice, smooky hints, velvety chocolate and spicy. Taste is layered with lots of roasty malt up front (chocolate, coffee, smoky, peppery) with a full mouthfeel and a sweet finish. A definite home run from this brewer as the person who sent me this one suggests.

growler from garmonbozia, pours dark amber with a medium light tan head. Nice roasted malt and pine hop aroma with some coffee notes. Flavor is nice and rich with coffee and chocolate notes mixed with a roasty light smoke in the finish. Really nice and rich, this is a great offering, wish it wasn’t a seasonal. Easily one of the best porters I’ve had.

Excellent porter. Thick chocolaty head with hints of caramel, chocolate and toffee in the aroma. Very well balanced taste. A big winner from Lazy Magnolia.

Pours a dark brown with a medium sized tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Potent nose of mocha with some subtle floral notes. Flavor of dark chocolate and coffee with some caramel notes and a subtle flavor laced through that I swear tastes like celery?! Slight grassy and woody notes as well. Mouthfeel is a little too watery for a porter, but doesn’t spoil the overall experience of the nose and the taste. Finish is coffee-like and pleasantly bitter.

Growler… Clear, deep ruby beer with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The nose is mainly of toasted nuts and easygoing milk chocolate. Almonds really stand out. Medium to full-bodied and slick with stinging carbonation. Moderate chocolate and espresso flavors. Hopped up nicely. Lengthy, moderately bitter, coarse/dry finish. Growler courtesy of TheCheeseMan!

WOW, man Leslie really hit a homerun with this beer. I picked up the growler at Corner Market here in Hattiesburg and anticipating the USM game today, This is by far the best beer LM has put out. Nice dark amber color with tan head. Smell is of chocolate and nuttyness. taste is an awsome dry porter with hints of chocolate and maybe some nuts. This beer has a thicker mouthfeel that any other LM beer I have tried. The growler is also very cool looking as well. Awsome beer Leslie and thanks Matt for the email about the beer.

Good porter. Pours a very dark brown almost black with a quick forming head. Good lacing. Good taste/ not too smoky. I’m not one for the porters that taste like they’ve been a barrel for ages. This one is good.

Growler. Pours a clear brown body with a nice tight bubbled light brown head that slowly receded to a thin covering. The nose is nicely chocolaty with minimal roastiness, slightly sweet, just a touch of hops, and a little nuttiness. The flavor is just slightly sweet with nice chocolate malt and some lighter toffee notes up front. Fades to a lightly hoppy and coffee laced finish. Light to medium bodied with moderate soft carbonation and some lingering coffee and caramel notes. Pretty nice sessionable Porter. It was not a chore to drink a whole growler of this in an evening.
