Big thanks to jzzbassman for this one! Pours a cola brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, coffee, and most definitely some potato starch. Taste is sweet milk chocolate, roasted coffee, fruity sweetness, and nice level of sweet potato. Interesting and pretty nice!

Shared by atom. Pour is dark brown with some reddish mahogany notes. Not much of a head. What an unusual aroma. Definitely get some sweet potatoes, a bit of lactose, caramel, and just a touch of coffee. The sweet potatoes just overwhelm the aroma, though. I donít like sweet potatoes to begin with, so itís not boding well for this beer. Taste is slightly better. Slight roasted character, caramel, graham cracker, and the sweet potatoes are much more subdued. Medium bodied, with a slightly roasty finish. I donít mind the flavor of this, but itís just a regular stout to me.

On tap at Flying Saucer, Nashville. Pours black with a thick dark tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, bitter chocolate. Flavor is quite bitter- lots of roasted bitterness and mild bitter chocolate. Some saltiness like a potato skin. Robust palate. Pretty good stout, actually, although it wasnít what I expected (I was expecting something sweeter given the name).

32oz growler shared with tasting group, poured into a Tilquin tumbler. Typical stout vibe...pitch black with a cm of tan head. Not too much going on in the aroma, yet I do pick up small traces of roast and coffee creamer.Taste contains lactose sugars, light roast, fruity ale yeast, and cream. A great sweet stout, but a detectable level of coffee/chocolate would have made this a winner.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
16 ounce pint - $4.75 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Very dark brown, nearing black in color with a scant, tan-hued head up on top.
Smell: Lightly roasty scent, hinting at a cup of weak coffee brewed for someone on a strict coffee budget or someone who really doesnít like coffee all that much. A bit of chocolate, vanilla. The nose isnít unpleasant, but it isnít one to reach out and grab you.
Taste: A sweetish taste of dark maltiness, though not overtly flavorful following the example of the aroma, offering up only mild flavors of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Thin sliver of dark fruitiness reminiscent of sweet grape. Very subtle bitterness. Semi-dry, malty, lightly minerally finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: A pedestrian brew, lacking presence. It left my hankering for something better, so I opted for a Bellís Kalamazoo for the next round.

Very dark espresso. Almost black with very little tan head. I have a bit of a cold, but smell absolutely nothing for a nose. Medium-heavy body with good carbonation. Tastes of lactose, some smoke, leather. Not over-bearing, but pretty darn nice. With a 5% abv, Iíd be happy to try this many more times today.
