COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jefferson Stout, Lazy Magnolia’s original Sweet Potato Cream Stout, is Lazy Magnolia’s version of the ideal Southern-Style Stout. Jefferson Stout is brewed with sweet potatoes and lactose (milk sugar). The sweet potatoes provide the background to an impressive taste with added notes of roasted chocolate, coffee and caramel flavors.

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours black with a quickly dissipating tan head. No lacing.. Roasted malt aroma. Fairly thin and astringent, but the flavors are nice - caramel and raisin notes.

Fairly typical stout with a nice creaminess. No sweet potato comes through in the taste but there’s a bit of chocolate and coffee.

Draft. Pours dark brown with an off white head. Sweet but surprisingly dry finish. Typical lightly roasted malts with a bit of vanilla coffee. Slight lactic bite. nothing special.

Pours a dark brown black pour. Nose is sweet chocolate with hints of brine. Taste is sweet with a off vegetable taste. Finish is sweet, slightly lingering with some " off flavors " , presumably the sweet tubers. Decent ! Quaff Score 7 / 10

Pours black with a brown head and aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is sweet and creamy, of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and light sweet potato in the finish. Interesting brew, tasty and solid stout

Tap at Avenue Pub pour jet black with beige head. Nose is light chocolate and coffee. Tastes of coffee and coffe ice cream which are different you know. also choclate, reson, maybe a touch of sweet potato though you have to know to look for it. some wood and milk. a touch thin but if you want a session stout then not a bad choice

Lazy Magnolia Jefferson Stout has a thick, tan head and a dark (almost black) brown appearance, with some reddish highlights at the edges. Only a little lacing is left behind. The aroma is of sweetness, malt, and cream. Taste is similar, with charcoal, coffee, a touch of chocolate, maybe some sweet potato, and a decent amount of underlying bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, yet watery on some ways. Lazy Magnolia Jefferson Stout finishes wet, sweet, and drinkable. Overall, this is excellent. RJT

The aroma is toasted malt with coffee, chocolate, and nuts. The appearance is dark brown. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is a bit thin.overall underwhelming with no discernible sweet potato but drinkable if you can take lactose.

On tap. Dark brown bour with a very thin head and a slight ring of lacing. Aroma of coffee and cocoa. Taste is a standard sweet stout - really not getting any sweet potato characteristics or much of any lactose element. Lacks the expected creaminess too - really thin and chalky, like the difference between hot cocoa made with milk or water. Inoffensive and sessionable, but not much too recommend.
