COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jefferson Stout, Lazy Magnolia’s original Sweet Potato Cream Stout, is Lazy Magnolia’s version of the ideal Southern-Style Stout. Jefferson Stout is brewed with sweet potatoes and lactose (milk sugar). The sweet potatoes provide the background to an impressive taste with added notes of roasted chocolate, coffee and caramel flavors.

Near black pour with a nice khaki head. Aroma is dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is the same with some caramel sweetness. Really nice flavor overall, sweet potato doesn’t contribute much. Easy to drink.

sepia with a thin coffee ring, large bubbled. Cigarette ash nose, oppressively smoky, lightly earthy. Sugary front palate hides smoke, but oxidized and woody through the sticky, thin finish.

12oz bottle via trade. Poured a medium density dark black with a smaller fizzy brown head. Aroma has an odd earthy sweetness that fades into a sugary bad chocolate. Body seems a little flat, softer carbonation and a milky watery mouthfeel. Flavor is the same as the aroma.

Black pour and dark brown head. Aroma is earthy, roasted malt, a bit sweet. Full bodied. Earthy, roasted malts, bitter chocolate, a bit of black coffee. Not overly heavy or difficult to drink. Really nice stout.

Pretty good stuff. Pours an attractive thick black with dark brown head. A bit of sweet potato, earthy, and roasty malts. Nice robust flavors.. Almost no sweet potato though.

Maybe this was an old bottle. Pours black with a dark caramel head. Aroma is metallic and nothing else. Taste is just bad. Again, I’m thinking it was a bad bottle. Bad coffee taste with a nasty bitter metallic after taste.

Dark pour with a mocha brown head. Aroma is roasted malt and lactose. Taste is lactose, dry, malt, strange aftertaste. I don’t like this.
