eaglefan538 (2115), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 11, 2006 Wow, Lazy Mag isn’t nailing appearance. In fact, this one wasn’t a "stout" (flavor or mouthfeel) at all in my book. Nevertheless, this was tasty, a nice coffee porter, imo. Pour was brown, nothing close to black, and the head was small (even in a full sized pour) with weak lacing. The aroma was mostly of coffee. The flavor was also mostly of coffee with a mouthfeel that was somewhat thin, especially for a stout. Yet, this was also quite drinkable, one I’d recommend trying if you don’t expect the average "stout." 21iceman40 (1671), north little rock, Arkansas, USA Jun 12, 2006 Holy lord did i do some work to score this beer. I got it at a place called Last Call in jackson ms. There were alot of gangsters shooting pool listening to pantera and two butch as fuck lesbians making out outside on a car, making me sick. The beer was solid, the waitress made me have a sample before ordering a full pint due to the disgust most local patrons found with the brew. I found it to be quite decent. It was dark, thick, nothing stood out, but it wasnt that weak ass biersch/hops stout. this was a good beer, i wouldnt expect anything less from a brewery that is located in the hometown of brett favre. RichJ7 (903), Cullman, Alabama, USA Mar 18, 2008 Cask. Pours a deep, dark brownish black with a huge beige head. Subtle earthy malt aroma. Flavor is lightly sweet wit ha toasted malt thing going and lots of lactic smoothness and creaminess. Didn’t get much of the sweet potatoes. Very, very smooth and creamy on the palate ... almost too smooth. You could drink this stuff like water. Very tasty. BrockLanders (723), Panama City, Florida, USA Jun 13, 2006 On tap at Beef O’Bradys in D’Iberville MS. Both this and the Southern Pecan were unexpected treats at this Beefs. I was mildly impressed...the waitress actually knew the name of the brewery. Dark brown pour with a minimal tan head. Big roasty mocha nose..after it warmed...it was served way too cold. Not full bodied enough for my tastes but still good. Flavor was quite good...lotsa roasted malts, big coffee edge. Their website says it’s a Sweet Potato Stout...huh? Maybe so, but I didn’t get the sense there were any sweet spuds in this stuff....maybe that’s for the good. Who knows. Try it if you get the chance...you could do far worse. Optigon (561), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Jan 16, 2007 Had a fair head with a dark, black-brown color. Has a sweet, malty quality to it. I expected something a little different coming from a sweet potato, but it was a good beer and worth trying.
