Lazy Saison is a cultivated, refreshing Belgian-style ale, complex in style with a mix of fruity aroma, earthy body and a hint of spiciness.

I think we need a new listing for this beer as it has been reformulated. If you are drinking the blue and yellow label or 2015 version you’re drinking the reformulated beer which is a smaller saison of 5.5% abv. Aroma is wheat malt slightly earthy with citrus hints and a bit of fruity esters. Crystal clear pale golden color with quickly disappearing white head. The flavors reflect the aromas with a hint of zesty saison character accentuated with mild fruitiness. The palate is unctuous, silky, perfect. Overall there are far more complex Saisons on the market. However this one is fresh, local, and you could drink several at a time which isn’t something you can say about all saisons. Yummy!

Fruity aroma and pours golden, with a hint of cloudiness. Super carbonated, with a fluffy white head. The flavor has a hint of bananas and creaminess, much like a cream ale.

A nice balanced release shows that Lazy Magnolia is capable of more than just light session beers. This pleasing release might not be the best saison in the world but for what it is gets the job done. Pick it up for a cheap solid Mississippi tick.

Aroma / Appearance - Golden carbonated liquid bubbles with a crisp white head for company. Gentle hops and soft hay tether to earth although the overall feel is much more subtle than many saisons.

Flavor / Palate - Apples and pears give this a smooth fruity profile. The sweet creamy transition opens up over the course of a few sips. If you were to make a cream soda inspired saison it might taste something like this. I wouldn’t call it the greatest example of the style but certainly it is among the best from the deep south.

Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, yeast and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of herbal yeast, fruit and biscuit malt. Slight hops in the background. The finish is fruity with a grassy yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Nice friendly somewhat tart aroma from a bottle. Lots of visible carbonation in this slight hazy yellow brew. tremendous amount of precipitants floating around with the bubbly action. Big rocky head, overall a nice visible presentation. From the start a quite easy going brew on the palate. Tho it does have a few of those negative ale attributes it comes across rather friendly. It also hides the alky content very well, its mild mannered for 9% fer sure. Better be careful of this one! Goes down way too easy. Could not really be 9%! Aroma goes slightly metallic near the finish. Very little medicinal feel in this one. Good overall balanced saisy. Better than expected.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2014 12oz bottle from ABC. Pours a golden orange with a very thick, long head. Citrus aroma, hints of lime and spices. Taste is sweet with a light finish. An extremely smooth saison, considering the abv. Acquire. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Pours clear gold with a large, creamy white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is fruity esters of apple and pear, black pepper, ginger, cereal and biscuit malt. Flavor is moderate Belgian yeast esters and spices with crisp malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass a yellow straw color with a thick white head. Aroma is lemony barnyard. Flavor is tart, lemon, bready malt, mild Belgium funk. Absolutely no indication of this being an almost 9% brew. Super high carbonation and a skunkiness in the finish. An ok brew considering is a Saison from Mississippi.

Hmm, not bad! Peppery, a little funky, bread and a little fruit. No sign of the nearly 9% abv.
