COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep South Pale Ale is Lazy Magnolia’s Pale Ale, a crisp and clean beer with the perfect balance of hops and malt. Its body and clean finish are ideally suited for all seasons, and the brew is moderately hopped for a great aroma and impressive finish. Deep South Pale Ale doesn’t fit into any category of Pale Ale, it’s a style we made up!

The Story
Deep South Pale Ale, formerly know as Reb Ale, was Lazy Magnolia’s first recipe designed to accommodate one, specific location. It was brewed in recognition of the overwhelming support of the Oxford, Mississippi market, home to the University of Mississippi. Oxford is a special place, deeply rooted in history and a vibrant center for the arts and Southern culture. Because of our consistent growth into new distribution areas, we had to change the name to accommodate our expanding. The label may not say Reb Ale anymore, however, we rebelled against style standards to come up with our own Deep South Pale Ale to make a beer for the rebel in all of us.

From bottle. Pours an amber color. Small head. Aroma was grassy hops, bread and cardboard. Taste followed with some malt but the rest of the flavors did not contribute well.

Taste: hoppy, grassy, hint of malt sweetness Palate: some froth on the tongue, lingering bitter aftertaste Overall: a bit too hoppy for me, reminds me of an IPA, hops are all the flavor, if you like IPA’s this is for you ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(bottle of Deep South PA) - watered down rust color with a minimal head. The nose is grassy and the taste is a little on the metallic side. I definitely detected the dry hops but it just has a weird metallic taste to it.

12oz bottle. Clear light amber with a nice white head. Fairly inoffensive beer overall - some light citrus hops and dry malt, mild body and decent carbonation, easy to drink with not much to it.

This beer is much better than its ratings. Crisp, slightly sweet and thick on the palate. Deep yellow color, nice head, and a balanced bitterness.

Bottle from ldhughes3 many thanks. Pours light orangey amber capped by a small off white head with fair retention. Nose of pine, grapefruit, and malt. Taste follows in order. Body is thin if not watery. A new state tick, worth it for that.

Bottle from central market. Pours a clear golden color with a bubbly white head. Aroma is grainy, a bit sour, and a touch of sweet. Flavors much the same with a bit more sour and family refreshing on the finish. A touch of dry also.

Pours a clear amber with a thin, white head with moderate lacing. Aromas of fruity hops, yeast, and is somewhat woody. There’s a decent balance between the hops and malts and it does have a nice clean finish, but it doesn’t do much else to impress me. It’s a nice crisp beer, but just another run of the mill APA.
