Bottled. Pours amber/gold with a nice head. Slight malty aroma. Biscuit / fresh bread flavor, honey is light, not too sweet. Very light overall but overall pretty easy drinking.

Tap, NOLA International Beer Festival 2012, labeled Nawlins Gold. Pours a clear dark gold with a nice foamy white head. Pretty minimal nose, just some light bready malt, a little doughy yeast. The flavor is much the same, bready malt, just a touch of bitterness, and maybe a little soapy note on the finish. Lighter bodied with fizzy carbonation. Your average Blonde Ale.

Bottle. Honey and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Mildly sweet toffee malt and lightly bitter herbal flavor. Hint of honey in the finish. Not bad.

Lazy Magnolia Southern Gold is a smooth session ale that is a little on the mild side. Light amber pour with a decent head. Faint aroma of honey. Taste is on the bland side with the honey note returning on the aftertaste. Southern Gold has some nice honey flavors but falls flat on the middle.

On tap at Keg and Barrel. Pours a clear light brown with a thin rim of white head. Aroma of sweet and bready malt. Flavor of sweet malt, roasted nuts, light fruits. Sweet, thin palate. Drinkable but a little sweet. 6/4/6/3/12 (3.1/5)

This is Rob’s favorite beer from Lazy Magnolia. I thought it was a bit weak and watery, and I couldn’t taste the honey in it.

2012-03-17. Dark golden body, tiny white head. Muted aroma, mild pale malt. Sort of buttery. Similar flavour, sort of buttery floral malt, very light bitterness. Average bodied palate. Okay, I’d drink it again but probably wouldn’t but it again. The band was better than the beer. On tap at Fritzel’s on Bourbon Street as N’Awlins Gold, NOLA

A golden amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a sweet grainy malt with light honey notes. In mouth, a sweet cloying boriing ale with grainy notes, grassy, honey, boring. On tap at Knoxville Brewer’s Jam, Oct. 22 2011.
