2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle. Pours clear dark honey color. Aroma of honey, caramel, touch of citrus, candy. Flavor is honey, floral, grain, slightly toasty. Okay, but nothing too spectacular. It does have honey flavor, but a bit bland.

1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
November 4th, 2013 - Bad beers? You think you’ve had bad beers? No, no, this is a bad beer. Everything about it is a smoldering failure. The scent smells like a lager used as an ashtray. Cigarette smoke? In a beer? Did somebody take a smoke break too close to the brewing equipment? The wan and light body does nothing to mask the flavor of raw potatoes and corn. And at $7.50 (though I recognize that this is somewhat out of the brewer’s control) this beer is an absolute rip off. Cutely named, but tragically brewed.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A clear honey body displays large, lazy bubbles beneath a frothy white head leaving falling, short lived lace
Aromas and flavors of floral, juicy sweet honey with nuances of tea and vanilla a smooth, sturdy, medium light body with medium carbonation, offering light honey biscuit residuals, certainly sweet, yet avoids becoming sugary or overly simple, well done

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
medium gold, quick head. Nose is soft malt. Slightly more bitter than sweet. Middle is unripe apple, honey, and light grain. Finish is like a spritzer. Meh.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Lazy Magnolia Southern Gold has a very thick, cream-colored head, a hazy, honey color, lots of bubbles, and a few stray tan chunks suspended about. There is a little bit of splotchy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is very low profile, but sweet, bready malt and a touch of honey are detected. Taste is of lightly-toasted malt, bread crust, and honey. I could not detect any bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Lazy Magnolia Southern Gold finishes semi-wet, easy drinking, and quite mild. RJT

Crisp and refreshing. Not overly sweet or malty, but mildly both. Good but not great.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
This is a very weird beer. It's not very sweet, doesn't taste much like honey (or even beer for that matter). It absolutely needs something salty to avoid tasting kind of gross. It's weirdly savory.
