COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Southern Hops’pitality is our offering of delicious cheer to Lazy Magnolia’s loyal fans all over the Southeast. A traditional IPA at its core, we have built Southern complexity into this new brew. The aroma is a bold citrus burst on the front end with hints of tropical fruits such as grapefruit, orange and mango in the finish. Lazy Magnolia’s brewers used a unique hop blend for an exciting dry-hoped aroma. Southern Hops’pitality has a Light Straw color and crisp, smooth finish on the palate. With an alcohol content right at the 6% ABV limit and a very hoppy 60 IBUs, Southern Hops’pitality is breaking new ground for Lazy Magnolia and the Magnolia State.

On tap at Taco Mac. I was surprised by the low score this beer received. I thought it was a decent IPA. Hops dominate the aroma - both citrus and pine present. Not real balanced though, mostly bitter pine hop flavor, but not unpleasant. Oily mouthfeel, body might be just below moderate. Overall, nice hoppy IPA.

Bottle. Clear amber color with ivory head. Floral, pine, pale malt aromas. Medium bodied. Nice hoppy bitter floral, spicy flavors with some lightly sweet pale maltage____nicely bitter finish---good.

Murky golden blonde. Aroma of biscuit, butterscotch and citrus. Flavor is a Belgian tang with a crisp hop bitterness of pine and lemon. Body is medium, carbonation is mild. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle (born 3/27/14) @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Hazy medium amber with a big fluffy white head that slowly recedes to a cover, wide strips of lace. I wonder if my bottle is a different batch than that of several other reviewers (who cite a "drink by" date), because I note none of their complaints. Taste is sweet for an IPA, beginning with caramel malt that does receive a generous jolt of citrus hops midway through, but by the finish the malt prevails. Not a top contender for IPA of the year, but very drinkable none-the-less.

Apricot-gold with a thick head that dissipated quickly, some lacing, and a grapefruit, peach, mango nose. Malty intro with a soft palate and a mild grapefruit, mango finish.

Bottle, courtesy of Jackl – thanks! Pours a fuzzy copper orange topped with a monster of a pillowy beige head. Good lacing. Nose is fresh grapefruit, a little floral, and pale malts. A softer IPA in flavor, grapefruit without the edge and tropical fruit. Mild in bitterness. Enjoyable.

I never had a beer from this brewer and I was pleasantly surprised to find the flavor of the beer matched the decorated label. Pretty nice overall, well balanced, expected, good.

Shared 12 oz. bottle poured to snifters, displaying a fairly clear, orangey amber hue, with a modest layer of off white head foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was dank, as a lightly skunked scent detracted from any pleasantries offered by citrus & pine. The taste was dry, with citrus, and a touch of malt sweetness. Light bodied, the texture appeared somewhat watery & thin, as the taste presented a lingering presence to the moderate, citrusy & rindy hop bitterness. The aroma was very questionable, but the flavor was okay.
