COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Southern Hopsípitality is our offering of delicious cheer to Lazy Magnoliaís loyal fans all over the Southeast. A traditional IPA at its core, we have built Southern complexity into this new brew. The aroma is a bold citrus burst on the front end with hints of tropical fruits such as grapefruit, orange and mango in the finish. Lazy Magnoliaís brewers used a unique hop blend for an exciting dry-hoped aroma. Southern Hopsípitality has a Light Straw color and crisp, smooth finish on the palate. With an alcohol content right at the 6% ABV limit and a very hoppy 60 IBUs, Southern Hopsípitality is breaking new ground for Lazy Magnolia and the Magnolia State.

On tap at Taco Mac. I was surprised by the low score this beer received. I thought it was a decent IPA. Hops dominate the aroma - both citrus and pine present. Not real balanced though, mostly bitter pine hop flavor, but not unpleasant. Oily mouthfeel, body might be just below moderate. Overall, nice hoppy IPA.

Bottle. Pours chill hazed orange with one inch of white head that subsides. Sticky lacing. Aroma is pleasant orange and light mango with some sweet malts, citrus peel, and pine. Quite aromatic. Taste is orange juice and honey fading into a very piney and citrusy finish with big citrus peel and some lingering bitterness. Full mouthfeel for only 5.5 ABV. A nice showing from the Deep South!

A decent IPA, though a little unbalanced. The citrus hops are a little astringent at the back end. Otherwise, sweet with a mild finish.

Slightly cloudy orange pour, frothy off white head. Nose is grapefruit. Bitter. Middle is grapefruit zest and light bodies malt. Finish starts with a little citrus sweetness, but then gets steamrolled by lasting bitterness. A little unbalanced, but still tasty.

Although not my favorite, Iíll rate this a bit higher just because it so do darn bold and I found it difficult to describe the exact hop flavors I was getting. Very, very..."green" flavors. Call it what you like- perhaps it was green as in herbal/piney/fruit..not sure. But very dominant hop flavor, thatís for sure.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color. Foamy white head with lacing. Smells a little sweet and citrusy. Nice papaya, pineapple, and bready flavor up front thatís followed by hop bitter crispness. Starts creamy and finishes dry on the palate. Nice IPA, but it doesnít blow me away.

Bottle. Resinous grapefruit/orange piney hops, and light caramel malt aroma. Clear copper with a huge ivory head. Bitter orange peel, citrus, tropical fruit, herbal/spicy hops, and biscuity caramel malt flavor. Medium body, moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Well, Mississippi is not exactly known for their beer. Having said that, this is a very decent, enjoyable IPA. Nice balance of haps and hay. Smooth.
