COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Southern Hopsípitality is our offering of delicious cheer to Lazy Magnoliaís loyal fans all over the Southeast. A traditional IPA at its core, we have built Southern complexity into this new brew. The aroma is a bold citrus burst on the front end with hints of tropical fruits such as grapefruit, orange and mango in the finish. Lazy Magnoliaís brewers used a unique hop blend for an exciting dry-hoped aroma. Southern Hopsípitality has a Light Straw color and crisp, smooth finish on the palate. With an alcohol content right at the 6% ABV limit and a very hoppy 60 IBUs, Southern Hopsípitality is breaking new ground for Lazy Magnolia and the Magnolia State.

On tap at Taco Mac. I was surprised by the low score this beer received. I thought it was a decent IPA. Hops dominate the aroma - both citrus and pine present. Not real balanced though, mostly bitter pine hop flavor, but not unpleasant. Oily mouthfeel, body might be just below moderate. Overall, nice hoppy IPA.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a nice hazy gold with white head. Lots of lacking. Really nice citrus aroma. Orange rind, lemon, grapefruit and some tropical fruit flavors. Taste is citrus hop and some mild pine. Mild sweet caramel backbone. Above average IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light Amber brew with decent head that hangs on for a long while. Excellent citrus aroma and flavor. Good all around IPA that is easy to drink and very refreshing on this 101 degree day. Plan to pick up some more of this one.

Pours a cloudy golden color with white head. Pine, citrus fruits, light fruits, and some spruce and hop resin on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a nice hop bite. Not bad.

12oz bottle poured into an imperial pint glass. The aroma is a bright, sweet citrus combination of orange, tangerine, and grapefruit with a touch of peach and/or mango. Thereís also a fairly strong cereal and toasted grain note with a caramel undertone. A grassy and spicy note poke through along with a faint damp sponge / bread yeast character. Very late in the drink a lemon drop candy aroma comes through as well. The beer is effervescent, and a hazy, orange-gold color with a foamy, rocky off-white head that retreats unevenly back into the beer. It does leave behind a decent, messy and uneven lacing as well as a thick ring with a puffy, uneven surface coating. The taste is initially a medium citrus and caramel sweetness, which turns towards a medium high / medium bitterness in the finish. The oily, medium body has an ample amount of subtle soft carbonation. Itís very dry, finishing with citrus peel, bread crust, dry pine, and some resin. The dry aftertaste of grapefruit lingers but cleans up nicely.

Pours a bright golden in body with a medium, slightly off white head that settles slowly. The enticing aroma is full of floral hops and citrus, including grapefruit, peach, mango, orange and lemon. The taste contains quite a bit of bitterness, mainly due to the strong grapefruit impressions. Plenty of pine balances out this bitterness. Undertones of orange and lemon are found underneath. Long aftertaste is a strong grapefruit. Light to medium in body, with a slick texture, while having a good amount of carbonation. Iím really impressed with this beer. Delicious and easy to drink, it also has a different feel than your typical IPA. A must try.

Draft pours amber with a off white head. Aroma of malts, pine and citrus. Taste is caramel, citrus and grains.

Slightly hazy gold body under a tall, frothy, off-white head. Light citrus hop aroma. The flavor is lightly bitter with malt in support. This straddles the APA - IPA line.

Unusual, vaporous, aromatic nose. Liked it. Tawny, light tea color. Good label on a regular longneck. Peachy, dry, nice hopping. Body is on the light side. Good cookout fare. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Tallahassee, Fl.- ABC Fine /wine & Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Dark copper hazy pour, thin, but sticky off-white head that leaves a bit of lacing. Enticing spruce-like aroma, hints, some juicy fruit gum. Bold, fresh flavor with plenty of grapefruit bittersweet goodness. Some nectarines and peaches add to the fruitiness. Malty backend with some nuttiness. Rich, thick mouthfeel. Very solid.

As Iíve stated many times before, Iím no fan of the IPA. This beer did, however, have some redeeming qualities. The nose was a full on assault of grapefruit and mango, which is why it shocked me to learn thereís no fruit used in this beer, o n my a masterful pairing of different hops varieties.
