COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale is the first beer in the world, to our knowledge, made with whole roasted pecans. The pecans are used just like grain and provide a nutty characteristic and a delightful depth to the flavor profile. This beer is very lightly hopped to allow the malty, caramel, and nutty flavors shine through. The color is dark mahogany. Southern Pecan won a Bronze Medal in the 2006 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category.

I had this in craft beer deprived Biloxi, Mississippi and was pleasantly surprised! Itís a fairly complex amber beer that drinks similar to fat tire and fills the void of craft beer!

Clean and quaffable, with a nutty aroma and a slightly sweet but full, mouthfeel. Rich on the finish and satisfying as an alternative to a straight malt beer.

Bottle->nonic. Medium brown with small offwhite head. Aroma and taste are nutty malt. One dimensional. OK for what it is.

Ehhhh...not sure about this one. Slight nutty flavor in the background (I might just be imagining things) but otherwise nothing to really remember the next day.

Nutty aromas, pecan mostly, with soft earthy hop scents as well. Clear deep red-mahogany with a mostly fading off-white head. Some initial malt sweetness, berry flavors, mainly nutty, some hops to balance. Medium bodied.

"itís hard to get a natural tasting (and smelling) nuttiness in a beer, but this one pulls it off pretty well. fairly rich (for a brown) malty profile with a nutty backbone, and a slightly sweet, slightly bitter finsih. not bad for the style, especially on a cool day."

Dark amber/ruby color; Light to medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of toasted malt, caramel/toffee, & some pecans; Flavor of sweet malt, caramel, light hops, and nut/pecans; A little thin - but decent.

Thin tan head with a light amber color. Smooth and not as bitter as I had expected. Mild but smooth with a light after taste of pecan that does not overwhelm. This beer exceeded my expectations.
