Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale is the first beer in the world, to our knowledge, made with whole roasted pecans. The pecans are used just like grain and provide a nutty characteristic and a delightful depth to the flavor profile. This beer is very lightly hopped to allow the malty, caramel, and nutty flavors shine through. The color is dark mahogany. Southern Pecan won a Bronze Medal in the 2006 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category.

The aroma is slightly sweet. Malts? No nuttiness noted. A clear dark amber pour with a one finger tan head which quickly disisapates. No lacing. The taste is a nice surprise after the underwhelming nose. Initially, some malty notes followed by a roasted nuts flavor, followed by a stronger pecan finish and a slightly grainy aftertaste. Nice. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a very drinkable beer.

Amber-brownish beer with a malty aroma. Sweet round taste with nutty and caramelly hints. Funny beer, abv could have been a bit higher for my (after)taste

Deep clear red Amber brown with a lacy head. Heavier mouthfeel but nice heavy malt with pecan in the finish and a touch of hop very little bitterness and an easy drinker. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Stopped at central bbq and grabbed a bottle of this to go with some ribs. Not my traditional beer but thought it would go well with bbq

Malty, slightly sweet. True to the style but I like hops too much and this style is not appealing to me. Good beer for someone just getting into craft beer. WBA (won't buy again). ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear brown color wit beige head. Aroma has caramel malt, dark sugar and a int of cacao. Taste starts with a really interesting nutty malt flavor which goes on through the whole taste spectrum. Light body with soft carbonation. Overall it’s a really balanced, easy drinking, nutty brown ale.

355ml bottle. Crystal clear, brown-ish amber colour with small to average, thick, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally nuttily, caramel malty aroma. Taste is slightly sweet, nuttily malty, some caramel, a touch of toffee; smooth, soft and silk palate.

Tanks to uncle Matt, 12oz bottle from Lukas Liquor store Overland Park. Poured ice cold into shaped glass. Hardly any head. Slight nutty flavor and aroma.. Mild, no noticeable bitterness but does have a 'tang' at the front. Smooth at the end. Good beer. Good ale. I'll Billy it if I find it NM.
