Commercial Description:
A true classic. The original pecan beer. The conventional wisdom is that nuts and beer don't mix. Maybe it's something about the water here, and maybe it's just the smooth toasted flavors in Southern Mississippi pecans, but our pecans help make what we consider to be one of the best beers we have ever tasted. We consider pecans to be a perfect addition to this nut brown ale. Smooth and mild with a malty sweetness accentuated by a rich finish. A finely balanced ale destined to become a southern classic.

Btl opened by brentfesh. A clean brown/red pour with slightly off white head and lace. Nutty aroma with hints of toasted malt. A pretty nice bitter finish with decent hints of nuts in the flavor. Slightly thin with decent carbonation. Pretty decent refreshing drinker.

Pours amber with copper to gold edges and tan head. The aroma is roasty and nutty to go along with crystal type malts and mild cherry hard candy sweetness. The taste begins with some roasted malts mixing with crystal malts and then moving more and more nutty. By midway some malt sweetness joins in with the rich nuttiness and carries the experience into the finish. Tasty nut brown.

Bottle thanks to Joe, my first beer from Mississippi. Pours a very pleasant amber redbrowncolor with a medium off white head. I really love the aroma pecan pie, very sweet, loads of toasted malts, and caramel, but very strong pecan notes What an aroma, pure goodness The flavor is pretty sweet, loads of rich caramel, toasted malts, a light hop bitterness that is refreshing, and light vestiges of pecans. More of a roasted nut flavor. A medium and smooth mouthfeel. Very nice. Leaves your palate clean and with a bit of sweetness.

A nice ale. If the label didn’t make it clear that pecans were present in the brew, I probably wouldn’t have noticed them. To me, this is simply a nice ale with a full caramel malty flavor. The finish is understated and consists of typical hop bite.

draft. This is a nice beer. Nothing special. Like Newcastle with maple syrup. Good for a ms brew.

whopping thanks to deepsouth(BA) for this extra in my magical case of goodies. This is my second time drinking this wonderful brew. Being the only beer I’ve had from the Mississippi Brewery, I’m quiet impressed with the originality inparticular. A nice fluffy tan heads fades into a nice thin layer atop a wonderful looking amber/copper with a slow rising carbonation that is as much at ease as the south itself. Wow that is an absolutely awesome aroma of Pecans. Not just pecans but roasted pecans. A nice robust and hearty dark malt accompany the roasted Pecans on their way up and into my nostrils. Elegantly smooth with a nice roasted malt character with a huge pecan punch throughout. It is ridiculously nutty with those roasted pecans leading the charge! This beer has a nice mellow, relaxed light to medium bodied with a very clean aftertaste. This beer is easy to drink even on a hot [and as required by universal code of torture], humid and nasty day [in Boston]. Add this one to you list of things to try! I would tell you more about how good this beer is but unless you’ve had one, you wouldn’t get it. No really, it’s nothing personal, you really wouldn’t get it.
