Timber Beast is the first in Lazy Magnolia’s Back Porch Series. A spicy, full-bodied Imperial Rye Pale Ale balanced with a generous dose of Zythos hops. Retreat to the Back Porch and be a little Lazy. Big Cheers Y’all.

“TB” poured a dark golden color, with a fat, off-white head that would leave heavy lacing on the side of the glass. It’s aroma was mixed with hints of pine and citrus. The taste of Timber Beast was certainly full bodied with a full hoppy quality. In fact, the use of hops helped to hide the increased alcohol volume. Its taste was one that lingered on the back of your tongue.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2013 Bottle courtesy of Hopscotch. Pours mostly clear golden with a medium white head. The aroma is spicy citrussy with notes of pine, spruce and fresh exotic fruit. Some sweet malty notes in the background. The flavour is very fruity and citric hoppy with a great malty backbone. This is a very well made double IPA.
