12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep, cloudy amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, some grainy/spicy/caramel notes from the malts, and a little dough. Flavor the same, with an interesting blend of everything. Average texture. Not bad, but could be a little better.

Amber/copper pour with a white head. Big resinous pine and grapefruit aromas. Nice rye notes, sweet bread, and caramel. Nice tropical fruit character, too. The flavor is fairly sweet and malty. Good grapefruit and tropical fruit with lots of pine. Quite bitter which balances the caramel and bread sweetness.

Bottle from AlexFields as an extra from a recent trade. Pours a cloudy orange with a dense white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is a bit grassy with hops being at the forefront. There is also a definitive malt sweetness to be felt only by sniffing. Taste is sweet, more than I’d like really. Hops are also a bit harsh. Overall an OK beer that could use a little tweaking IMO, thanks again Alex!

On draft. Pours gold with a slight white head that leaves thick lacing. Big spicy citrus aroma. Taste is spicy, grassy, citrus, a whole lot of grapefruit. This is an amazing rye ale.

Was not a big fan of only the couple of Lazy Magnolia beers I had tried in the past. Had this on draft at Blue Canoe in Tupelo, MS. Very nice. Double IPA with good floral aroma and good mouth feel. Nice addition to their line up.

Lazy Magnolia Timber Beast has a very thick frothy, yellowish-white head, and a hazy, bright orange appearance, with a huge amount of streaming bubbles and a lot of thick, foamy lacing rings left behind. The aroma is of spicy, peppery, piney hops and sugar, and the flavor is of sweet, malty bread, sugar, citrus juice, and piney hops. Mouthfeel is medium to thick and slick, and Lazy Magnolia Timber Beast Imperial IPA finishes dry, bold, and bitter. Also, one just does not pick up on the high alcohol in the taste, but you will feel it in your body and head. Overall, this is another wonderful beer, and I suggest that you try it! RJt

Sample pour from a bottle at Beer Barons. Pours a pale amber color with a white head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, grass. Medium on the palate with creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet, bready, rye, some pine hops, with a light, malty finish. Nice.

12 oz bottle from Garmonbozia. Thanks dude! So sorry to see my last of these go... It pours a burnt orange color with a really beautiful orangy, off white head. The aroma is an enticing mix of dense, spicy rye maltiness and plenty of piney, orange hops. There’s some hints of caramel or brown sugar sweetness, but it’s in a totally supporting role with the rye and hops shining through nicely. The flavor is the same. Fruity and spicy malt up front followed by solid but not overpowering piney bitterness. The finish settles into a great balance of brown sugar, rye, pine and orange. The Zythos hops were an inspired choice in this beer. Loved it.

Hazy orange yellow with darker lacing foam head. Aroma is bitter hop, hop and hop. Taste is same, bitter bitter hops. Long lasting bitter aftertaste. (Houston 201303)
