Great label, standard US longneck, hazy apricot brew with a huge white head. Bristly, candied pineapple aroma with some chemical rye tones. Woody, tangy, moderately sweet, rye twang, medium heavy bittering. Medium body, good carbo, chemical finish, long west coast bitter finish. I’m ready for the weird IPA thing to fade away. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Pours cloudy, dark amber-orange with a cascading tall head. Aroma is caramel, bread heel, rye malt. Taste is spicy rye malt. Fairly strong leafy/herbal bitter. Just a bit of alcohol prescence. Slightly on the harsh side.

Onionkid (361) - Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA - JUL 31, 2013
Bottle. Aroma of malts and some zesty hops. The taste is similar, way more hoppy than I expected. Has a bit of caramel sweetness to the flavor along with some slight spice. Overall this is a solid brew, one that I can highly recommend. A bit of a watery finish, not as strong as I’d like. But hot damn this goes down smooth considering the abv. 9% alcohol.

Bottle. Buttery caramel, light rye malt, and orange hops aroma. Hazy orange amber with a large yellowed ivory head. Sweet caramel, light spicy rye, and orange hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation

Bottle. Pours a nice orange IPA color. Little foam, but what is there seems lacy and sumptuous. Aroma is cheesy and stanky and somewhat rye-indicative. Taste is bold and dank. Nice beer... solid mouthfeel and palate. Clean finish. Somewhat warming at the finish, but nothing even approaching overpowering. Really good stuff.

5/28/13. 12oz bottle from Tipples in Gainesville. Hazy orange pour with a big thick khaki head, plenty of lacing. Big citrus on the aroma, lots of grapefruit, some caramel, and a bit of tropical fruits. Tasty, this is the best Lazy Magnolia beer I’ve ever had by far.

Light, bright orange in color, this beer has a slight haze and an off-white head. The aroma is soft and earthy. The rye contributes to the beer’s earthiness, softening the hops nicely. Its flavor is sharp of trees and wood-like hops and a touch of earthy graininess. All around, this is a well-balanced - neither the hops, nor grains dominate, and the rye is just present enough to accessorize. Yes, it’s definitely light on rye compared to some other rye IPAs, but it adds just enough character to make the underlying IPA distinctive. Its alcohol presence pushes the boundaries of an IPA (some categorize this beer as a double IPA), but it remains tame enough to feel like a solid IPA. Well-done, sessionable, soft, and although not powerful in its hop presence, still satisfies the hop taste buds.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a mostly clear copper color with a medium white head. A big fruity and malty nose mostly oranges and some caramel. The flavor is a light zesty orange, huge malty sweetness, caramel, low bitterness, spicy rye. More of a barley wine almost. Really sweet and tasty.

Clear dark golden color with rich ivory foam. Spicy, skanky, pine hoppy aromas with some caramel. Medium body with average co2. Pine, floral, grainy malt, mild spice flavors---not enough hops or rye for me
