12 oz. bottle. Hazy orange pour, with a medium, beige head. The aroma is heavy resin and floral hops, with some butterscotch and wet hay. The flavor is very bitter, with little to no malt backbone. Heavy body, sticky, and very astringent. Low carbonation. Overall, this is a strong and hoppy, but fairly unpleasant beer.

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a hazy gold with a thick white head. Fruity hop aroma. Flavors of pine, citrus and biscuit. Bitter finish. Nice DIPA.

With an ABV of 9, I'd argue this is an imperial rye IPA. In any case, just wonderful! Strong hoppy aroma following a surprisingly light color pour. Beautiful resin and pine malt backbone, with nice bitterness. The rye makes this beer -- a super good spiciness that starts at the beginning and stays around long after everything else fades into the background. Recommended! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Either this brew caught me at the wrong time or the beverage that looked so beautiful in the glass, with its burnished copper and pale, persistent head, is more beautiful than appealing to the palate. Aroma is mostly up the middle for an IPA, but the rye malts and hop varieties are not quite right. I love a good RyePA (See O'Fallon Hemp Hop Rye), but the hops here leave too much grassy character where rye would be much better balanced with a more floral character. An interesting shot from a great southern brewery, but misses the mark for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Augusta, Ga. - Toast Wine & Beverage - 12 oz bottle. Murky medium orange pour, slight white head that sticks around a while. Fresh, minty rye aroma with a hint of spruce. Flavor is bold, yet muddled. Some caramel sweet flavor, some citrus bitterness, hints of molasses and dates - but too many things going on at once - rye mintiness is overridden. Overall, a thick sticky mouthfeel - needs a bit of refinement.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep, cloudy amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, some grainy/spicy/caramel notes from the malts, and a little dough. Flavor the same, with an interesting blend of everything. Average texture. Not bad, but could be a little better.

Amber/copper pour with a white head. Big resinous pine and grapefruit aromas. Nice rye notes, sweet bread, and caramel. Nice tropical fruit character, too. The flavor is fairly sweet and malty. Good grapefruit and tropical fruit with lots of pine. Quite bitter which balances the caramel and bread sweetness.
