Decent retention and some good lacing. Smells of very strong sweet malt notes with a slight hop essence. Very sweet from the malt, then the hop kicks in, but not to strong. Long lasting bitterness in the end. Great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear amber color with beige head. Aroma has woody hop notes, sweet orange, red grapefruit and some underlying caramel malt. Taste starts with the sweet citrus fruits backed up by the malt, continues with earthy hops and finishes with medium grapefruit bitterness. Medium body with soft carbonation. Overall it’s really easy drinking DIPA with the alcohol hidden very well and very balanced taste.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2016 Draft from Half Time. The pour is a nice orange color. This is a juicy, grassy, dry IIPA. The aroma is first rate, with lots of sweet floral scent. There is a bit of caramel, lime, green herbs - really good! A fine intro to this Missiissippi brewery.

If you are heavily into rye IPAs then this beer could be up your alley. To me it goes all in on the wrong things and falls short in most of them. It won’t keep me away from Lazy Magnolia in the future yet I have slightly lower expectations going forwards.

Aroma / Appearance - The semitransparent amber body settles below soft white snowy head. Rye, mulched leafs, and a slightly harsh bitterness push things too hard too quickly to be enjoyable.

Flavor / Palate - Rye toast, almond butter, and warmth permeate every sip. The rye aspects mostly overwhelm any IPA aspects leaving behind a trail of bitterness that falls just short of the finish line. I don’t regret the purchase but it could have been much better.
