I’ve had this on tap and from the bottle. Both were incredibly fresh offerings (the draft was on July 1st, 2012 - the first day it was legal). From the bottle there is a huge head that’s retained for some time. Nice coppery color. Citrus notes in the aroma and flavor. It has a very full feel in the mouth and is nice and spicy. Very drinkable.

A dark golden color with three finger of cream colored head. Smells of pine, grass, a slight sweet flower. Taste has a medium hop bite at first with pine citrus flavors then gives way to a biscuit with bitter then ends with a little more bitter but some honey sweetness and some caramel malt. Bitter stays on the tongue, medium body medium carbonation. A little sweeter on the finish once it warms. A pretty decent IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

from a trade. First Mississippi beer. A few months past the best by date, but I think this is still a decent DIPA. rye gives it a unique spin with some spice from the hops

Bottle to glass. Pours a deep golden light amber color with a creamy off white head. Aroma is fleshy fruit, caramel sweetness. Flavor is a bit more mild, but still has some fruit hoppy sweetness. Light to medium in body with a lingering caramel fruitiness. Pretty solid.

Erzengel (1912) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - MAR 11, 2014
Very fresh and floral hops in the nose, the beer starts very floral and hop-aromatic. In the mainpart there is a nice smooth sweetness with hints of the rye, which makes it nice "grainy", a bit like a good rye bread. The aftertaste is long, intense-floral and very nice balanced rye-bitter.
A very great beer! I like it! --> 13/12//13/13

Aroma of resin, candied citrus, citrus, floral hops, strong rye notes and toasted malts. The taste is bitter rye malt, citrus hops. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness.

Pours a cloudy orange-golden color with a large well-retaining eggshell colored head. Tons of bubbles migrating from the bottom. I hope it’s not because it’s Sweet malty and lightly citrusy aromas. Mildly scrubby and astringent mouthfeel. Lightly spicy, honey, citrus, cereal malt flavors.

Fresh bottle. Pours hazy gold/orange with slight white head. Aroma is pine and citrus, but both are muted. Not much in the nose. Taste is orange (ShockTop-ish) with some balance by the malt. Would like more carbonation here. Feels a bit one-note.
