(bottle - 12 oz) Hazy orange pour with a fluffy white head. Bitter and dry hop aroma with a light citrus undertone. Rye really dries it out. Flavor is bitter and dry at the start with some light citrus and pine resin coming up at the middle. Dry and lingering bitter finish.

Rich slightly hazy copper and orange tinted body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of rye, resinous and piney hops, earth, malt and a bit of nice fruity sugars. Medium to slightly Full-bodied; Strong rye flavour that shows very well and isn’t too assertive, but also having a proper balance of hops and sugars, all showing strong and not overpowering any other flavour. Aftertaste shows more of an earthy and malty bite with the rye and grain more noticeable along with a very mild alcohol warmth throughout. Overall, a surprisingly nice and very well-balanced IPA with a rye note and a mildishly double ipa quality, but not full out. Definitely worth sampling if you can find this! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop (12th Street Location) on 19-December-2014 for US$3,79 sampled at home in Washington on 24-February-2015.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy melon orange, with a nice pillowy head of tight white bubbles that reduces to a thin layer of white swirls. Aroma is spicy - which reveals the rye character that I enjoy in IPAs. The body is smooth and the flavors come together nicely. The spicy hops and grain notes are supported by a balancing sweetness. Easy to drink for such a big beer.

Aroma is pine, dank hops and a slightly odd funk/garbage element. The flavor is grapefruit, fruit, tropical fruit, that odd funk, malts and a mix of alcohol, rye and tart/bitterness in the finish. Most of the time I use odd to describe negative, but this almost seemed like it came from the hops, definitely different and not negative.

Bottle. Pours clear amber, medium puffy beige head, long lasting with nice lacing. Strong room-filling aroma, pretty standard IPA - lots of pine and spruce resins, a bit of perfume. Flavor is medium sweet and medium bitter, resinous, and fairly spicy from the presence of the rye malt. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, lingering bitterness. A bit too sweet for me, but otherwise a solid effort.

A solid imperial rye pale--probably my first in the style. Very palatable (not overwhelming) for a 9 percent beer. Mellow hops & malt forward. Bottle. Bottled on 9/10/14. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
