3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Fred82 (1992) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 24, 2013
On tap at brewpub.
Appearance : Slightly hazy amber with small thin head. Not much lacing.
Aroma : Herbal hops wit light hay. Some vague malt. Light fruity notes.
Taste : Light malt, light herbal hops. Light resinous notes. Some burnt sugars. Finish is bitter and astringent.
Overall : Nothing really special. Feels a bit more like an english pale ale than an IPA and not a really good one.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Glouglouburp (5572) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 12, 2012
In short: A well-balanced malty and citrusy/floral amber IPA with light soapy notes
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy dark amber body topped by a medium beige head leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is Floral hops with citrusy notes, the most hop-forward aromatic Rimouski beer ever. Taste has a solid semi-toasted biscuity malt backbone with a bit of caramel. In mouth the hops are more citrusy than in the aroma and the roles are reverse, citrus fruits upfront and floral notes in the back. Also some citric notes. Bitterness a clean and the after-taste is relatively short for the style. This is a hoppy beer with a solid malt backbone, a well balanced beer, not a hop-bomb. Still, this is the most hop-forward beer I’ve ever had in Eastern Quebec. Nice fluffy mouthfeel. All this would be fine if it wasn’t for the soapy character from start to finish. Overall just an average IPA at best, which makes it a fantastic IPA for eastern Quebec. And for those with limited advanced mathematics knowledge, number 8 is the representation of infinity that has finally decided to get up its lazy ass.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 GarnotingPete (529) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 26, 2012

Drank on tap (12 oz) at the brewpub on July 9, 2012. Coppery amber, thin head. Aroma of caramel and grapefruit hoppiness. Nutty hoppy, some citrus and herbs, good bitterness. A pretty nice IPA!
