COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

[6.0% when I sampled it] An unclear dark orange beer with no head. The aroma is sweet lemony with slight notes of malt and spices. The flavor is also very lemony combined with strong notes of ginger, but also touches of other spices and a slight sourness.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours dark brown/black with a foamy/creamy 3 finger tan head. Aroma of slightly sour chocolate. Med body. Flavor is smooth burnt malt, chocolate and a little milk sugar. Seemingly finishing a tad sour, but the chocolate and malt pretty much submerges that. Nice drink. Suddenly it seems a bit dry and almost astringent. ?

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2004 Nice expresso nose. The dark rich malt comes out nicely, bitterness not overdone, very nice mouthfeel (Oct. 13 2003 : 8-4-7-4-16) Dark black ale with moka head. Faint aroma of roasted malts. Good roasted coffee taste with lactic notes. Very short in mouth but fairly good bodied. Pleasnt Porter (Dec.1 04: 6-4-7-4-14)
