cargo150 (425) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 10, 2014

Bottle, shared with my wife and my dad. Dark brown pour, but not dense or hearty enough to block transillumination, golden highlights, nice off white head that leaves a little lace. Aroma is wet coffee grounds with hints of chocolate. Palate is thin, coffee dominates over background roast. Finish is dry.

probstblueribbon (2766) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 13, 2013
500 ml bottle from OMNI, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. 12NO12.

App.: Deep brown-black with a good creamy mocha head. Aroma: Tons of coffee, dark chocolate, and faint caramel behind that, a touch of milk chocolate, some dark-roasted malts, fair. Palate: Medium body, flaccid. Flav.: Harsher coffee, much less chocolate and friendliness, a touch smoky, kinda thin and bad; dry with limited bitterness and a surprisingly watery, yucky finish.

The nose was a tease!

bunget (454) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 21, 2012
500ml bottle. A pitch black body, big mocha head with excellent retention and tons of lacing. Aroma of coffee, burned sugar, wood charcoal, caramel. Taste of charcoal, coffee, caramel, medium dryness, a nice woodenness in the aftertaste. Pretty light, flat carbonation. A safe stout.

blankboy (5805) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 15, 2012
Bottle [500ml]. Pours dark brown, almost black, with amber hues and a large semi-lasting frothy tab head. Aroma is coffee first and foremost followed by light leafy hops, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavour is coffee, almost like and iced coffee, along with hints of hops, chocolate and roasted malt. Slightly dry, roasty finish. The coffee in the aroma and flavour is slightly burnt. Average to medium bodied, almost creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good but the burnt element drops it down a bit. -- Rated via Beer Buddy.
