Bottle [500ml]. Pours dark brown, almost black, with amber hues and a large semi-lasting frothy tab head. Aroma is coffee first and foremost followed by light leafy hops, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavour is coffee, almost like and iced coffee, along with hints of hops, chocolate and roasted malt. Slightly dry, roasty finish. The coffee in the aroma and flavour is slightly burnt. Average to medium bodied, almost creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good but the burnt element drops it down a bit. -- Rated via Beer Buddy.

Bouteille 500ml.

500ml bottle, Aroma: caramel, chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts, hints of woody and vanilla. Complex, I like it. Appearance: cloudy brown/black, very opaque and looks "heavy". Creamy cream colour head and sticks to the bottom of the glass. Taste: Sweet with a little bitterness. Palate: feels medium body, oily texture and average carbonation. Long finish with a sweet chocolate/coffee after taste. Overall: not bad at all,I enjoyed it and will consider buying it again for sure.

500 ml bottle. Pours a deep black with a long-lasting beige head. Smells like coffee grains and chocolate. Taste is burnt toast, dry coffee, ash and dark chocolate. Finish is dark chocolate and coffee bitterness, with a touch of wood (?). Body is thick, mouthfeel is oily. Excellent stout.

Draft: Poured a black color stout with a small dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of coffee is dominant but not overly dry with some roasted malt notes. Taste is a great mix between some dry roasted malt with some good notes of coffee with light black chocolate notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Well brewed with great balance to avoid too much dryness.

This one totally lacks balance. Coffee is way too overwhelming. Plus, it is very bad coffee, so...

Bottle 500 ml [2010] 171/1000 Pours black, with very low head. Aroma is of bad coffee. Taste is of bad coffee. Weak, watery stuff. Bottle 500 ml [2011] 494/2000 Same as the other one. Very weak. Deceiving.

Bottle 500 ml [2010] 171/1000 AND Bottle 500 ml [2011] 494/2000. Apperance: Pours dark brown with a medium beige head, quickly diminishing. Aroma: Coffee and roasted malt, but not a nice coffee aroma. Taste: Watery and coffee. No complexity and not well balanced. Overall: It’s like drinking a cold coffee, and a bad one. Used to much better beers from the brewer (see Mackroken and Mackroken Grande Réserve).
