Pours dark but not quite a solid black, topped with a quickly vanishing beige head. Picking up the coffee notes, but it smells over-extracted and there is an underlying papery, wet coffee filter quality that I don’t particularly enjoy. Bittering, burnt coffee up front in the flavor follows through into a weak malt profile, and finishes a little watery and acidic. Too thin on the palate for the style. A bit of a letdown, though drinkable.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2012 En fût à l’Oktoberfest des Québécois. Couleur noire, mousse beige. Arômes de café. Le café est dominant mais tellement bon ! Douce en bouche, café, café, café. Excellent Stout café. Bouteille 500 ml. 5%. Mousse onctueuse. Encore aussi bonne.

pours clear dark brown, almost black, with a light beige head, disappearing relatively quick. strong coffee nose and some dark chocolate notes. roasted malts, some maple syrup (just a touch of sweetness). medium hopped - resinous and grassy, along with the bitterness and light acidity left by the coffee. soft to average carbonation, light to medium body - slightly thin mouthfeel. good.

Bottle - 500ml. Pours a black body with average carbonation and a decent beige foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with roasted cereals and coffeeish hints. Its well balanced taste carries roasty and chocolate notes. Ends with a fair bitter/roasty finish. Decent Stout.
