Pouring out a silken amber colour with a thick foamy head with soapy density and mild body carbonation. After a few short moments the head fizzles away and leaves a half inch cap of creamy beige foam atop the mild amber body. A wafting spice aroma with components of nutmeg, allspice, cloves and coriander accompany a mild roasted malt, toffee and brown sugar notes. A nice spicy aroma overall with a mild malt character peeking through the blend of spices. A bit sweet and peckish to start with mild caramel and toffee notes, a hint of honey or brown sugar and a rather full body. The spices take over entirely and warm my bones with full nutmeg and allspice notes. The finish has a warm alcohol linger and a noted spice flavor

Re tasted March 21st 2013. Aroma: Subtle notes of spices and honey. Aromas are very difficult to get. Almost not sticking out. Appearance: Red, partially hazy, head is thick creamy and long lasting. Lacing is weak. Taste: Attack is slightly smoke with small notes of honey and pepper and a certain acidity. Finish is acid and sour. A bit unpleasant, too acid. I had tasted this beer in December 2011 and I was then thinking I had a bad bottle. But after 2 bottles, it did not improve.

gramity (1055) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 30, 2012
Heavy spices and yeast in the aroma, unique for an amber ale. Has a little bit of a generic amber ale flavor to it in the malts, not really a good thing considering how many bad amber ales are out there. The spices take this ale away from being boring but not far enough to make it great

bunget (318) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 20, 2012
500ml bottle. Gorgeous deep amber body, slightly cloudy, medium beige-yellow small bubbles head with an excellent retention. Aroma on the sweet side: caramel, grapefruit, honey, resin, herbal-floral. Taste is nicely balanced: citrus, resin, caramel, honey, tons of herbal hops. Nice long bitterness, thick texture and good carbonation. A late alcohol heat.
