COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This one is different than the Bieropholie version as it has a different yeast and hops. It has also some difference through the fermentation process. The malts and the honey are not exactly the same. And, of course, this one has less alcohol. They have the same type of aromas, but some esters are really not the same.

Beautiful pour: dark brown with plenty of caramel-colored head. Aroma with honey, malts, and a bright, distinctly artificial fruit flavor that reminds me of Daiquiri Ice from Baskin Robbins. Odd. Kinda bland on the palate, honey fades and is quickly forgotten. Too boozy for its own good. Meh.

(L1293MK12) (429-301012)

Pours a nice deep brown with a slight glow. Smell is alcohol, quite fitting for a scotch ale. There are also some burnt caramel notes. Body is full and this beer doesn’t produce much head. Sweet and not quite bitter, it does somehow mimick how a scotch feels. A bit too hot (alcohol) for my liking, I’ll have to revisit the Grande Réserve someday.

Bottle. Light gusher. Dark brown pour with creamy off white head. Aroma of cherries, grapes and chocolate, lots of chocolate actually, some light honey notes. Taste of dark fruits, cherries, plums, grapes, honey. Body is a bit watery but carbonation is fine.

The aroma is toasty with toffee, caramel, cream, and dark fruit. The appearance is dark red-brown with a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall a very good beer.

Bottle 500ml. Pours brown/mahogany with nice creamy beige head. Some lacing. Aroma is of caramel, malt, tofee, spices, sweetness, alcohol. Taste is of caramel, sweetness, malt, warming alcohol, honey. Palate: oily mouthfeel. Overall: Very good. On the sweet side. Not very easily drinkable unfortunately.
