COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This one is different than the Bieropholie version as it has a different yeast and hops. It has also some difference through the fermentation process. The malts and the honey are not exactly the same. And, of course, this one has less alcohol. They have the same type of aromas, but some esters are really not the same.

Keg. Aroma of raw sugar and dried fruit. Sweet and complex flavours like an aged barleywine or muscat - caramel/honey, light spice. High alcohol evident.

Well ain’t this a beaut’. Pour is dark dark brown but it’s got this beautiful mahogany hue when it catches the light. Nose is toffee, burnt sugar, treacle, honey, and prunes (like prunes steeped in Armagnac and infused into a beer - beautiful). Taste is a sweet and syrupy: caramel/toffee, prunes, molasses, honey, and a good bit of alcohol warmth (no kidding, at almost 11%). This is so syrupy that it drinks like an eisbock (or a port, as advertised), and it’s very sweet. It’s also about the least sessionable beer I’ve consumed in the past month, but it’s still delicious, and great for tastings. The barrel-aged version is even better.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at RBWG 2014 grand tasting, thanks! Pours a clear deep amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains and honey with a touch of booze and light fruits. Flavor has sweet grains and honey with a touch of booze, darker grains and light fruit.

Bottle. Velvety okay butterscotch and bourbon aroma with some citrusy hops. Hazy dark brown under a lacy, off white cover. Potent bourbon, sweet flavour with some banana esters and transcendent booze. Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, sweet finish.
