RateandPillage (417), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 14, 2006 Had on tap at the AsiaWorld location. Pours murky light yellow with quickly fading decent white head. Medium banana and light clove aroma. LOTS of banana in flavor with less so of the clove. Medium bodied. Low hop bitterness and little to no hop aroma/flavor. Relatively flat, needs more carbonation for the style. This is an excellent example of a German style Hefe-Weisse and makes this brewpub worth visiting.
Pyobon (178), Sydney, Australia Dec 2, 2007 On tap in Eslite. Very cloudy amber yellow with good sized dense head. Very little aroma, maybe some esters / banana but hard to tell. I enjoyed the flavour, but it wasn’t anything like lager! It was tangy with esters, banana, pears and just a bit malty (and at one point I thought maybe a hint of aniseed). The flavour has a soft finish, just fading out. The palate was fizzy, reminisecent of champagne, turning to soft froth in the mouth. A very enjoyable beer.
