Jukkabro (2405), Tampere, Finland Jan 21, 2008 Dark brown colored with slight red hints, little light brown head. Strongly hopped, very American styled aroma with nice hops and lemon, even some vinous notes and some chocolate also here, good aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is drier with also this strong American hopped note, flowers and lemon with slight caramel also there. Aftertaste dries even more. Good brew. oh6gdx (6343), Vaasa, Finland Jan 6, 2008 Bottled. Ambery brown colour, small beige head. Aroma is bigtime hops with some mild caramel and some grass. Mild cooked vegetables also. Flavour is malty, hoppy, earthy and yeasty. Some mild barnyard lurking in background. TBone (5116), Pori, Finland Jan 6, 2008 Bottled
Rating #4200.
Nut brown color, not much head. Amarillo hoppy, a bit sweetish nose. Very hoppy, nutty malty beer. Chewy malts, hoppy bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Interesting, tasty beer. Very American, not French and despite of name it is not really an old ale - American strong ale is propably the closest style classification.
