Garrold (1470) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2013
Bottle from Jug and Bottle, Bubwith. Dark brown. Tan head that turns into an odd, green tinged film? Aroma is a sour, vegetal weirdness. Some blackcurrant. Some roasted coffee. Taste errs toward the sour side of all that. Smooth palate, though, and oddly quite enjoyable. Insipid, it isn’t.

Bottle at the Semi-Final Tasting, London. Thanks to Jack! Pours clear, red-brown with a creamy, tan cap. Cheap chocolate in the nose, some toasty sugars, some bread. Light sweet flavor with mild chocolate, faint tang, dark and toasty bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light to medium sweet finish with some tangy dark malts, modest lactic tang, mild mocha. Meh.

75cl bottle courtesy of Erwin @ RBBSG II. BB 11/2014.

Convincing UK Challenger hop profile, smooth but not creamy, thinnish, some milk chocolate, roasted nuts, none too sweet.
