SteveAGreen (10), Wickwar, Wotton under edge, England Dec 24, 2002 Very robust milk stout. Characteristic of this type of beer and benefits from being drunk at warmer temperatures. A powerful and heavy drink with a spicy sweet taste that is deceptive.
FatPhil (2408), Espoo, Finland Jan 8, 2008 Jet black, tiny head. Rich roasty aroma. Matched in the taste, a touch of ginger too. Very English. Very dry. Very pleasant. TBone (5172), Pori, Finland Jan 6, 2008 Bottled
Dark ruby color, almost opaque color, small beige head. Roasted coffeish aroma. Roasted flavor, there is some vegetables, smokeyness and papery hops. Good stout from France. oh6gdx (6460), Vaasa, Finland Jun 19, 2006 Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, mediumsized brown head, lacing. Aroma is roasted malts with some sweetish hints, most likely from coffee. The flavour is dominated by roasted malts and strong smoke. Some hops, coffee is also noteable. Aftertaste and finish are quite lame with the rest of the beer, but very nice. Thanks omhper. ante (2579), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 13, 2006 Bottled. Dark brown. Nice, inviting coffee aroma with notes of cocoa and burnt malt. Dry roasted flavour of coffee, licorice and dark bread with subtle sweetness from vanilla and cocoa. Solid body. Long roasted aftertaste with notes of chocolatesauce and vanilla. Nice stout. Thanks Per. omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 13, 2006 [Bottled, thanks rauchbier!] Transparently black with rich, firm head. Concentrated aroma of roasty malt. Dry with soft but firm mouthfeel. Creaamy with notes of coffee. Licorice-like bitterness finishes it off. Subtle, yet flavourful. Very clean, yet interesting.
