3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear dark golden to light amber liquid topped by a 1cm white slice. Cerealic, pretty grainy aroma with minimal flowery/citrus notes. Simple, yet efficient nose for who looks for straightforward maltiness. In mouth, I’m a bit surprised by how it comes together, differently than what the nose had let me believe. Firstly, there’s a fair bit of citric acid in there from those grapefruity hops that are otherwise not very aromatic and not all that bitter either. Piney/soapy notes punctuate the finish without disturbing. Then, there’s the texture which feels a bit gritty, the bubbles pushing the palate around without the softness that the round cerealic character demands. Meanwhile, there’s a light, but coarse husk character that dries the palate up and adds an tea-like character that blends with the mineral surroundings to procure a seaweed/green note. It makes for a few original traits in what I expected to be a well-made, pretty straight golden ale. It remains fairly easy to drink, but for me to buy from time to time, I’d need a more polished texture and brighter hops in the flavour and aroma departments.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I have a strange history with this beer. When I first tried it, it was bursting with citrus hop smell and taste. Then it seemed to become a more boring, generic pale ale for a while. Now that beautiful hop profile is back (to stay, I’m told), so this beer plays like a junior version to their Yakima IPA.
The pour is a pretty typical blond without much in the way of head, or retention, but the nose more than makes up for it. Big citrus notes, most notably grapefruit, with a little bit of bread from the malt hiding in the background. Taste follows, with a dry, but gentle, finish (oh dear....). There isn’t a huge malt profile here, but I think that’s kind of the point. It’s light, it’s refreshing as hell, and it’s very drinkable. As someone else mentioned this is a great noob IPA, for anyone trying to ease into hop-heavy beers.

Bonne blonde avec du corps et qui a beaucoup à dire au nez. Agrumes sucrés et blé présent au nez. La finale est enveloppante et légère a la fois. Excellente bière pour néophyte.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy darker yellow with decent head and great retention. Aroma is hoppy, mainly citrus and some fruityness. Almost smells like an IPA. Taste is quite dry but not to the extent of an IPA. Very complex, grassy, more citrusand fruityness with a shorter but pleasant aftertaste. A suprisingly hoppy Pale Ale, but enjoyable nonetheless.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours an extremely cloudy orange. Medium white head and lacing.
On the nose there is citrus, mixed with caramel biscuity malt.
Tastes are of citrus bitterness, with a light background of sweet malts.
Overall I was expecting something light, but was pleasantly surprised by the complexity of aromas and tastes.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy orange pour, huge billowing head....exploding out of my glass, and it wont stop. Toasty orange hop aroma, some light bubble gum, and wet paper. Carbonation is off the charts, i took a big gulp and it almost went out my nose, mouth feel is fine though, if anything a touch thick for the style. Finish is sweet, biscuity malts, slightly sweet pale malts. Pleasant orange hops round it out, nice.
