blankboy (6422) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 2, 2013
Bottle [660ml] shared with GregClow, jerc & mabel -- c/o j&m. Pours a very dark brown with red hues and a small lasting frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal, coffee and just a hint of chocolate. Flavour starts quite sweet but then becomes roasty, dry and bitter. It’s also a bit watery along with some coffee and lactic notes in there as well. Average bodied. Pretty good overall.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2013 2013-03-28. Very dark brown black body, small tan head. Dry toasty roasty aroma is almost brown ale like at first, mild coffee ground notes. Flavour is similar, dry overall, roasty toasty overtones, dry roast lingers in the finish. 6+ Average plus bodied palate. Enjoyable, but a touch too dry overall for my own tastes. Bottle via trade with cfrancis.

Bomber from Broue Ha Ha. Very dark brown with a light and creamy mocha head that fades to a thin layer. Milk chocolate, slightly roasted malt and hazelnuts. Mild+ body and pleasant carbonation, smooth bit silky, lots of chocolate but not too sweet, finish is not great but ok.

Bouteille 660ml.

A dark reddish brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, a sweet mix of chocolate, nuts, caramel, not bad. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with roasted notes, coffee, butterscotch, oily mouthfeel, classic. On tap at Vices et Versa, Feb. 22 2013.

Bomber from La Barik.
Appearance : Dark amber with small head. Not much lacing.
Aroma : Mainly coffee, light oatmeal. Roasted malt. A bit creamy.
Taste : Roasted malt with light chocolate, light oatmeal and some coffee. Finish is mostly coffee with light oatmeal and light chocolate. Coffee is quite persistent on the finish.
Palate : Soft carbonation. Creamy palate.
Overall : I was a bit surprised to find that much coffee on the nose on an oatmeal stout. That being said, the beer is fairly good and enjoyable. Not the most complex but pretty decent. No apparent flaw but some could be hidden behind the coffee notes.

pours medium dark brown with a nice beige head, little retention. roasted chocolate, disturbing burnt malts, hint of sweetness and acidity. resinous and grassy hops - light to medium hopping. average to soft carbonation, light body - mouthfeel is disappointingly thin. meh - almost a drain pour.
