3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - 660ml. Pous an opaque black body with a thin, diminishing, off-white foamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate and roasty hints. Its robust, sharp taste is slightly dominated by hoppy flavors. It carries malty and roasted coffee notes. Ends with a long, strong bitter/roasty finish. Well done.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Second brew from this new brewery from Rigaud, QC. Pours a dark brown colour with red highlights. The beige head is decent with little lacing. The aromas are wonderful with coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and nuts. More on the roasted malt side of things for the taste, with the others being hints of. Nice creamy mouthfeel with some mild stickiness. This is a beautiful oatmeal stout for those who like the roasted malt, but also love notes of chocolate, coffee and nuts.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
1.9L growler. Pours an almost opaque, reddish black with a resilient white-beige head. Smell is oat, cocoa. Taste is milk chocolate, sweet cocoa, vanilla, and tons upon tons of oatmeal. Finish is cocoa, oatmeal. Medium body, although very smooth, soft, and incredibly velvety mouthfeel. Medium level of carbonation. Very solid oatmeal stout!

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deepest brown with clear edges and a smallish tan head. Burnt cookies, chocolate milk and charred grain meet in this sweetish oatmeal stout that unveils a solid malt depth (molasses, raisins, blackberries, pudding), but could be polished further in terms of mouthfeel. Indeed, the carbonation feels a bit rough, hitting the palate with hard, acidic bubbles that, while they dry out the caramelly notes that could have been tiring, cut into the malt development and make the initially oily, medium palate feel much thinner than it is. Timid leafy hops. A kiss of vanilla seems to linger in the finish. Pretty good stuff that could get up there with many great Quebec stouts based on its complexity if minor adjustments were performed.

Bouteille de 660ml. Bière brune foncée avec une mousse épaisse brune. Le nez est bien constitué avec des notes de café, de grains rôtis. La bouche est ronde, onctueuse, l’avoine arrondit le tout. Agréable et facile. Bien faite.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Interesting aroma of roasted malt, coffee and caramel. Pours a black color with brown highlights and a thin brown head. Good flavor of coffee, caramel and roasted malt, it has a nice balance between the sweetness and dryness. The body is medium with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. This is the first beer I try from this brewery and I’m quite impressed, this is really well-done.

T/p: full body with long bitter finish. average carbonation. O: pretty good misses only in richness. The silkiness from the oatmeal could have been more present. The aroma is pretty much right on. Impressive start from this new brewery.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A good stout especially given this is the first bottling from this brewery. A dominant roasty flavour with a bit of chocolate in it and a little bit of medicine flavour. However, I am really having a hard time tasting the oats and it is a bit thin, not having the milky thickness one associates with a good oatmeal stout.
