GirlyBeer (178), Biddeford, Maine, USA Jul 8, 2007 I had this at Chival Blac while I was in town for the Mondial. It had somewhat of a smoky flavor and aroma with hints of lemons or fresh ginger. The overbearing flavor, however, was this beer tasted like gauze pads smell. It had a band-aid flavored finish. There was no maple flavor at all. I would avoid this beer in the future.
robinvboyer (1071), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada May 31, 2008 not much of an aroma, but the flavour really does show the maple, but its a smokey maple, almost a msoke beer, with a touch of sweetness. DougShoemaker (2619), Toronto, Canada Aug 29, 2007 A smokey, medicinal malt nose, yellow, small white head. Taste of burnt paper, medium bodied, harsh. Sub par for these folks. Clear amber gold with creamy line top.

Roasted, burnt aroma, grainy bellows.

Quiet smoky, smoked malt is the dominant theme here. Log lasting character, smoky with sweetness beneath.
Glouglouburp (2113), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 28, 2007 Clear golden with topped by a small ring of foam. Smoked wheat on the nose. The main flavours of the beer are smoked wheat/wood and sweet malts. The advertised maple syrup flavour is barely noticeable. Sweet chewy malts (very sweet), a few spoons of brown sugar, a whole lot of smoke and that’s it. Would require a new “Sweet Smoked” style on ratebeer. Pleasant but rather simple. Maple beers are a spring custom in Quebec and this one is about as traditional as a shrimps poutine.
