On tap at the pub. Pours a cloudy blonde color with a thin white head. Decent aroma and flavor of cranberries and coriander, maybe other spices too. The palate is light and dry and the carbonation is lively. It’s interesting to try it once but it’s not one of this brewpub’s best.

rederic (3256) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 13, 2006
Hazy brown-orangeish hue, with a ring of white foam head, yeasty, note of fruity fieldberries, spicy coriander, maybe also hint of curaçao in the aroma, follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty character, hint of sourness, maybe from the cranberries, but the fruit himself is almost invisible in the mouth, with a spicy note of coriander, hint of fruitiness, leading towards a tart and sour fruitiness finish.

So here’s how it happened, it being my loving of a fruit beer. I went into the brewpub hopeing for a couple of classes of the wonderfull "California" just to find it finised. So upon looking at the menu for quite a while I finaly said, "I think I’ll have a 12 ouncer of atoka," to wich the bartender responded, "Realy? The cranbery beer? Ok, if you’re shure." and my pint was poured in glass. One should mention that it is actualy an amber wheat/cranbery ale, not just a cranbery beer. It should be also mentioned that it folows several caracteristics of beers that I usualy hate, but I like this one very much. Pours a medium heavy cloudy goldish ruby with a lightly pink half inch head of small yet visable bubbles. Boddy is slightly sandy with a lovley fizzy almost natural carbonation to it. Taste starts of with a lovley refreshing crispy tangy ness, I like most I imagine, was expecting more cranbery sauce, not tart fresh cranberys {real cranberys I’m told by the bartender, over a handfull in every pint he tels me} folowed by sweet a chery maltyness and a light trace of bubblegumy yeastyness, then a strong return to fresh tart cranbery. Light undertones of belgum yeasts, buckwheat, rasins, and just a touch of flowery mild hops dance with the strong dry cranbery body in a very very refreshing way. aftertaste is first bubble gum wheaty ness and swetly stickily belgum, which i did find unaplealing, but upon first breath, all other taste is replaced by an even tarter than befiore wash of dry as hell cranberys, and after a long linger, it’s replaced by a stong swety fuity ness that stays around just long enough to let you know it’s there. Wow, that was sooo, good, my mouth is watering just describeing it now....... I want another one right now. I looked at my glass, and saw some prety serious laceings, and not a drop of beer. I looked at the clock. Barley a min had passed. I looked at the bartender, and there were several other beers I wanted to try, but i thought for a second and said "I think I’ll have a pint of this please," to witch he responded "Realy? You shure? well ok..." Get it before it’s gone, the beer menu here changes at almost light speed. Cheers

(Rating #361)

(Draught) Sampled at the brewpub on December 2, 2005, for $5. Pours a deep reddish body with a thin, quick dissipating head. Nose of sour fruit. The malt is fairly week to counter the strong acidity. Pretty good but not a nightly sipper...

Draft... Lightly hazy, straw-colored ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. The nose is tart with notes of lemon and green apple. A touch earthy. The flavor is perfectly balanced and dry, but otherwise nondescript except for a whisper of butter. Light-bodied with a bone-dry finish. Leaves the mouth feeling like the mojave desert.
