COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A special offering and a big cheers to our dear friend and Brasserie d’Achouffe co-founder, Christian Bauweraerts. It’s a golden pale ale, belgian style, hopped with Sterling and Ahtanum hops, dry hopped with czech Premiant hop leaves, unfiltered and refermented in kegs.

On tap at Le Cheval Blanc, pours a completely clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, horse blanket, sort of like a saison. Flavour of Belgian yeast, some wild, rustic notes, a bit of horse blanket and and dry leather. Tastes way better than it looks. Very sessionable and flavourful. Solid.

Clear golden topped by a generous white foam. Good head retention. Nice and complex aromas of noble herbal hops, esters (bubble gum), and a touch fruity. Big CO2 attack, medium to full body, clean bitterness on the hay side, quite dry, nice malt backbone and lingering herbal bitterness. Great belgian pale ale.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity and yeasty. Bitter, herbal and grassy. Phenolic and almost bubblegum like. Bitter and dry into the finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Nice clear light gold pour, white head. Aroma of belgian yeast, quite grainy, spicy hops. Taste is a real treat, good balance of sweetness and hoppiness, with just a hint of yeast spice. Palate is well carbonated and fluffy, body is medium-full. A real tasty quencher.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy golden color with a large white head. The aroma is a nice strong lemon and citrus, some zesty hops. The flavor is a sweet citrus note, lemon, some light herbal and spicy hops. Enjoyable for sure.

On tap at the brewpub, hazy blonde hue, with a white head, yeasty, spicy, fruity, bready dough, flower petal, lavender, lilac nose with some lemon, grapefruit peel, pineapple esters, and some faint honeyed pale malt, vanilla aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, spicy herbal, flowery lavender, rose petal, floral hop citrusy character with a grapefruit skin, faint pineapple fruitiness, with a leafy, grassy, minty hoppiness and a hint of vanilla, leading towards a lemony, citrusy, floral hoppy, dry finish.

Tap at brewpub. I thought it had a lot of similarities with a saison but I was pleasantly surprised by the intensity and the depth in the taste, ranging from abundant cereals to fruityness provided by their signature yeast, without forgetting that very interesting leafy hoping. A very, very good beer which is raising the whole level of this brewer.
