Belle apparence brumeuse. Un léger arôme. Doux goût avec une légère amertume.

This beer could best be described as a toned down cousin to Unibroue’s Blanche de Chambly. That’s not giving it short shrift, however. With less spicyness tartness, this beer might actually win over fans who are not used to the more pronounced attributes of wheat beer that Chambly possesses. Highly drinkable and very smooth going down, this beer would go well in just about any situation. An excellent choice for the novice wit beer drinker, and those tired of mainstream beer and looking to explore.

Light bodied, not too much spices. Nice foamy head. Some orange in the taste. Not the best witbier, but very acceptable.

Soft wheat nose, spice (clove?) opaque amber, odd for the style, tiny cream head. Subtle taste of wheat, spicing is very nice though. Light bodied, quite pleasant to drink. Good.

Very sweet, not much spiced. With a pale colour. Too much citrus on it. NIce foam and nice aftertaste too.

On tap at the brewpub in Oct ’05. 5oz taster served with a lime wedge. I got that out of the side of the glass ASAP. Cloudy yellow. Wheat, corriander, and bitter orange peel aroma. Guess this is a wit. Taste is typical wit, wheat flavors, corriander, orange peel, some nice spiciness and a nice bit of bitterness, though certainly not too much for the style. Nice middle of the road wit. I have probably overated some examples of the style early on since I enjoy them quite a bit, especially in the summer (not so much in Montreal in late October).

Draft... Murky, straw-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. The nose is of mandarin orange, grain and subtle coriander. The flavor is perfectly balanced, but bland. Maybe a whisper of orange peel. Medium-bodied and creamy with fizzy carbonation. Finishes crisp and lightly bitter. I’m not big on the style, but this wit is very pleasant... not over-spiced.

Yellowish. Almost no head. Nice tasting beer. Dry finish. Really like this one. Great white beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Served with a lime, which was quickly discarded. Really looks good: hazy medium yellow, almost fades to white in the upper half, small tight white head. First impression on aroma was banana, second impression was pineapple and lemon zest. Taste of yeast, lots of citrus, very flavourful. Medium mouthfeel. Grew on me quite a bit, I was scribbling how much I loved it at the end (as I read now a week later). 3 solid beers here tonight, I’ll be back.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2007 Deuxième de quatre verres de dégustations. Oui, ce n’est pas la version RJ, très belle couleur jaune/blanche, très bon goût d’agrume. Très rafréchissante.
