collieman (192), montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 29, 2005 Oh this is all wrong, maby it’s the batch, but it’s wrong. Pours a very thin purple tinged brown, low carbonation, thin bage head. Palat is thin and a little oily, with a milky caracter. Aroma is muted, a little floral and a little malty. Taste is full of floral hop, sweet fresh plumb malt. No undertones to speak of other than yeast sedement. Aftertaste is wet, oily and a little bitter. Not what I would call a bock, but once again, it may be the batch. End of october 2005. Cheers
Quevillon (1339), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada Dec 28, 2006 Bu sur place en fut (10 oz). Brune acajoux, petit collet. Arome de malte roti et de noix. Goût de malte et de noix, faiblement amère, un peu cafiné. probstk (711), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Dec 22, 2006 12 oz. glass on tap at the brewpub. App.: med.-reddish copper, clear with a minimal rocky white head. Aroma: a little metallic, orange and lemon, fairly malty, some caramel and toffee, a little fruity (cherries, peaches, apricots) and a little piney hops in the background. Med. body, fairly aggressive carbonation. Flav.: banana esters, raisins and dried fruits, a little sweet, a somewhat bitter, roasted malt finish, candy malt and more esters (bubblegum this time). Maybe not quite heavy enough for a bock, but still enjoyable. rederic (1513), montréal, Quebec, Canada Dec 20, 2006 Dark mahogany color, with a small beige head, toasted malt nose, with a fruity caramelized malt note, hint of toffeish, and spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet toasted malt character, with some dark fruity notes of raisin, plum, date, flowery hops accent, leading towards a malty fruity, faint bitterness finish. TaktikMTL (2042), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada Dec 19, 2006 En fût. (Rating #787) Glouglouburp (2113), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Dec 13, 2006 Clear mahogany body, medium off-white head with low retention. What a nice beer. Taste is spicy toffee, dates, brown sugar and roots. Very malty beer without being thick thanks in part to the lively carbonation that increases drinkability. The beer is also surprisingly well hopped for a Bock. And that’s not a bad thing since the mildly bitter leafy hops adds a lot to the complexity. This is a very good and highly drinkable beer. It’s beers like that that make me happy to live in a neighbourhood where it is easier to find brewpubs than grocery stores. I really do.
