3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Le Cheval Blanc. Hazed straw pour with a white head. Nitro pour, I guess. Nose is pretty good, actually. Really citric and fruity. Mild pineapple, some grapefruit, and orange. A little grassy, too. Flavor is pretty sharp and citric. A lot of grapefruit. Mild grass and pine. The nitro kind of ruins the intensity of the beer, though. Otherwise, pretty nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A hazed amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, light caramel malt with smooth British hops, nice. In mouth, a smooth biscuit with herbal British hops, oily mouthfeel, a bit of butterscotch, quite nice. On tap at Off Mondiale Event at Cheval Blanc, June 8 2012.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2012-06-08. Hazy pastel yellow, nice creamy white head. Lovely flavour, pleasant citrus is non-deScript (sweet lemon?) but quite nice. Mild bitterness, very mild pale malt and wheat like notes. Something else I can’t pin down. Bitterness grows in the finish. Pleasant aroma, lemon-citrus and hints of yeast. Very smooth medium bodied palate. Lovely. On tap at Cheval Blanc, Montreal

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2012 My Bottom Line :
This IPA’s fascinating citrus salad of a nose leads to resinous bitterness and portly cereal flavors.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A creamy sheet of foam tops the cloudy beige-hued golden.
-I’d like to know how nitrogen affects how a hop aroma is developed. It sure gave this aroma an impression of sweetened fruit salad (or jujubes even?) even though the brew is not very sweet at all.
-The flavor profile is more of the same, with a few biscuity angles too.
-The mouthfeel is obviously creamy because of the nitrogen.
-Alcohol is a no show.
-Cereal flavors aren’t at the forefront, but this is still as comfortable as can be.
On tap at the Mondial and at the brewpub.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at Le Cheval Blanc, Montreal, June 8. Pours a very murky yellow-peach with an average size long-lasting creamy off-white head -- looks great. Aroma: Wowza! This smells amazing -- lots of hops and quite fruity along with yeast and herbs. Flavour of sweet malt, yeast and citrus hops and a big bitter finish. Medium bodied. Creamy mouthfeel. Simply fantastic!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
In short: An aromatic hop bomb, tasty but never aggressive blond IPA
How: Tap at brewpub, first batch brewed, post-Mondial 2012 event
The look: Cloudy yellow-blond body topped by a large white head with good retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is an aromatic bomb (fruity-flowery) that can match fresh Hill Farmstead IPAs in terms of aromatic hoppy intensity and freshness. Taste is relatively smooth for such an aromatic bomb, soft bready malts, fluffy yeasty mouthfeeel, lively carbonation, an abundance of refreshing fruits (bananas, mangos, tropical fruits of all kinds…) and flowers. A bit of cat piss as the beer warms up, me suspecting some Citra here. Very tasty but never aggressive, once again slightly reminiscent of Hill Farmstead’s single IPAs series, and that’s quite a compliment. A great beer, nice to see that Quebec is really catching up on the aromatic IPAs trend. Great beer, this rating is from the day of the release of the first batch, I could have drank gallons of this but my wife dragged me back home, I’m a beerophile and I shouldn’t be trusted alone with fresh young beers.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft: Poured a clear pale yellow color male with a large enough foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruits hops with lightly sweet malt base. Taste is dominated by an explosion of citrus notes with some of tropical fruit and even some fruity ester with lightly sweet malt base. Body is light for style with good carbonation. I really enjoyed the mix between some light pale malt with huge fruity hops aroma.
