Very Pale IPA brewed with pale malts, oat and rye flakes. Intensely dry-hopped with Citra, Zythos and Bramling Cross. Nitro.

On tap at the Brewpub. Slightly hazy gold pour with creamy (nitro) white head. Aroma is grassy, orange peel, nice dank weedy hop aroma. Taste is mind blowing, so much delicious orange zest, creamsicle, dank hop, piney, so good, probably the best IIPA I ever tried so far, at the first sip my eyes lit up like a five year old in a firestation. Palate is so smooth (nitro), soft carbonation, so easy drinking. Amazing.

On tap (13 oz) @ Le Cheval Blanc. Served on nitro.

Appearance: Hazy golden-orange with a thick fully lasting creamy white head and heavy lacing. Unfair because of the nitro serving? I don’t care, it’s beautiful.

Aroma: Dank hops, oranges, pine, onions, grass and mild spiciness.

Taste: Ok, this is where things really starts to get serious. A burst of dank hops, grass, creamsickle, oranges, pine, rich doughy cereals, mild spiciness and moderate bitterness. Juicy. Perfect cohesion.

Palate: Full bodied. Soft carbonation. Really smooth and creamy mouthfeel because of the nitro. A bit oily too. Despite being that creamy, it’s still super dry in the finish. Resinous, citrus and dankiness in the aftertaste. Unfair because of nitro serving? I don’t care this is amazing.

Overall: This is my highest rated DIPA so far. Is it the best I had per se? Not 100% sure about that because Hill Farmstead makes some badass ones too, but this is definitely the one I enjoyed the most. Thoroughly. I only drank a 13 oz pour (ok ok, I admit I also took a few sips in the glass of the lady) because I was driving a few hours later and this is still an 8% abv beer but otherwise I would have drank many (!) glasses of this... all day long. Drinkability is astonishing for a DIPA. Really quenching and so smooth. Packed with a ton of flavors while still being extremely well balanced. Perfect mouthfeel for that beer. Phenomenal!

In short: An aromatic hop bomb, tasty but never aggressive blond IPA
How: Tap at brewpub, first batch brewed, post-Mondial 2012 event
The look: Cloudy yellow-blond body topped by a large white head with good retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is an aromatic bomb (fruity-flowery) that can match fresh Hill Farmstead IPAs in terms of aromatic hoppy intensity and freshness. Taste is relatively smooth for such an aromatic bomb, soft bready malts, fluffy yeasty mouthfeeel, lively carbonation, an abundance of refreshing fruits (bananas, mangos, tropical fruits of all kinds…) and flowers. A bit of cat piss as the beer warms up, me suspecting some Citra here. Very tasty but never aggressive, once again slightly reminiscent of Hill Farmstead’s single IPAs series, and that’s quite a compliment. A great beer, nice to see that Quebec is really catching up on the aromatic IPAs trend. Great beer, this rating is from the day of the release of the first batch, I could have drank gallons of this but my wife dragged me back home, I’m a beerophile and I shouldn’t be trusted alone with fresh young beers.

Draught at Le Cheval Blanc, Montreal, June 8. Pours a very murky yellow-peach with an average size long-lasting creamy off-white head -- looks great. Aroma: Wowza! This smells amazing -- lots of hops and quite fruity along with yeast and herbs. Flavour of sweet malt, yeast and citrus hops and a big bitter finish. Medium bodied. Creamy mouthfeel. Simply fantastic!

2012-06-08. Hazy pastel yellow, nice creamy white head. Lovely flavour, pleasant citrus is non-descript (sweet lemon?) but quite nice. Mild bitterness, very mild pale malt and wheat like notes. Something else I can’t pin down. Bitterness grows in the finish. Pleasant aroma, lemon-citrus and hints of yeast. Very smooth medium bodied palate. Lovely. On tap at Cheval Blanc, Montreal

Overheard: "I would also like the Double Boner!"

Big on the fruity, citrusy hops. Juicy green leafy hops. The juiciness i find cut the bitterness and its not overpowering. Creamy mouthfeel and a soft carb. Touches of rye add a rounder finish, with some lovely pine, resin notes. Super session ale. But the 7% might differ.
