On tap at La Cheval Blanc. Pours a clear ruby brown with wisps of a tanned white head. Aromas are all roast with a touch of smoke. Flavors of roast and caramel. This is actually rather tasty. Very light bitter finish, and sweet. Touch of banana or gumballs at the end. Second favorite of the night (behind the stout), and along with the stout, the only two that were even worth drinking.

Nov 16, 2006 Bu sur place en fût (12 oz). Brun foncé, petit collet. Arome intéressant de malte et de blé rôti, un peu doux. Bon goût de blé rôti avec un peu d’épice, comme manger des rôtis au blé entier avec du beurr d’herbe et épice.

Jan 3, 2006 Hazy brown-oangeish hue, with a nice tan head, yeasty, fruity, hint of clove spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate, with a yeasty, spicy cloves, good note of fruitiness, like raisins, figs, wheat dark malt mouthfilling, leading towards a crisp fruity acidic and spicy peppery dry finish.

Dec 28, 2005 Hazy amber ale with a thin white head. Light cloves and bananas in aroma. Fresh wheat malt in mouth, with notes of cloves and bananas, very classic, medium bodied, nice to the Erdinger dunkel tasted previously.

Présence d’un moyen col crémeux et d’une large dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de melon d’eau (?), de miel et de gingembre. La durée de l’arrière goût est courte. Palette: Le corps est mince et la texture est minérale. L’effervescence en bouche est faible. Présence d’agrumes en arrière goût. (Rating #375)

Dec 16, 2005 The pour reveals a cloudy dark amber color with a thin white head. Pleasant aroma of ginger bread and banana. The flavor is very good, mostly sweet and fruity, notes of black wheat, ginger bread and banana were found, the finish is dry. The palate is light and powdery, almost dusty, with a moderate carbonation. A very good and enjoyable dunkel weizen, the ginger bread pleases me a lot.
