Cela me rappelle mon voyage à Bamberg. On tap at brewpub.
Appearance : Clear pale amer with a small white head.
Aroma : Light smoke with wet grain and light meaty notes.A bit mineral.
Taste : Smokey with light yeast and light hops. Light bitterness on finish. Nice woody smoke on finish.
Overall : Interesting one. Highly quaffable and crisp. Nose could be a bit cleaner with less yeast. Nose and taste could use a bit more smoked malt IMHO. Still this is a great summer beer and with a few small tweaks it could be quite amazing.

Clear golden orange topped by a thick creamy whitish head. Gentle aromas of woodfire and smoked ham. Medium body, low carbonation, mellow attack, medium smokiness, all on the smoke ham side, some hops in the finale. Nothing realloy complex here but everything in balance. A lighter rauchbier. Nice...

On tap at the brewpub. Gold pour with white head. Relatively light smokiness, less than I expected. Quite grainy on the aroma and the taste, smoky but not the usual bacon/meaty aromas that are usually found in these beers. Well balanced. The body is light and carbonation is medium. Quite enjoyable.

A lightly hazed blonde with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, a light smokey malt with light fruity esters, very smooth. In mouth, a nice lightly smoked malt, light biscuit malt, OK. On tap at brewpub, Sept. 3 2011.

Poured a deep golden hue topped with a thin ring of off-white head. Aroma was a disappointing blend of straw, grass, and cereals. Flavor came through as strong notes of hay and cooked vegetables, no smokiness whatsoever. Not sure what happened here, quite surprised with the results on this one.
