In short: A very very very hoppy and very very very bitter grassy chocolaty black IPA. For hopheads.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Almost black body topped by a small tan head
In long: After a few minutes of warming up the beer aroma showcased an enormous amount of a juicy grassy hops with a bit of roasted malts showing. Taste has a solid malt backbone, bittersweet chocolate, some other stuff probably, hard to say because everything goes away when the fresh juicy sticky grassy hops hits the back of the mouth. Assertive intense bitterness. Very looonnnnggggg finish, if beers could talk the after-taste of this beer would be a Fidel Castro speech.

(Rating #3995)

Aroma is fruity, chocolate, coffee. Taste is intense bitterness, molasse and fruitiness. Unbalanced to me but still a good brew.

Black, topped by a creamy brown head. Aromas of grain, muesli, chocolate and a touch of grapefruity hops. Medium to full body, creamy, light carbonation, great hoppy bite backed by a smooth roastiness and finishes in a long lingering cocoa finish with herbal hops coming back in retro. Black IpA? Harvest Stout? Don’t know, don’t care, it’s a good hybrid! Reall

Drink on tap (20 oz) at the brewpub on November 6, 2011. Black, medium head. Aroma of fresh hops, barley malt notes with a soupson caramel. Chocolate flavor hops, hints of bitter herbs, coffee aftertaste dry and bitter. Very good hybrid!

A deep dark brown ale with a thin creamy dark mocha head. In aroma, a sweet licorice smokey chocolate with nutty notes. In mouth, a smooth bitter chocolate with mocha coffee, herbal hops, very nice, roasty and balanced, loads of cereals. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 14 2011.

Note: 7/10
