Draft. Pours a pale orange golden body with a white head. Light herbal and per-fumy like hop tones. A light sweetness and a bit grainy with a light straw and earth toned hoppy finish. Soft and crisp but thin and a bit lame overall.

Tap at Le Cheval Blanc. Pours a light golden with an ok lasting thin white head and fairly high carbonation. Aroma is dusty toasty malts, cereal cracker, bread, spicy green earthy notes- pepper, and leafy hops. Flavor is nutty yeast, dough, spice, slight apple, grass, earth and dust- mostly dry finish. Ok.

A pint at the brewery. Darker than the ordinary Kolsh, No head, maybe the keg was near the bottom. Not much difference the the ordinary blonde ale, easy drinking, low on the hops, more on the malt side.4/10

Draught, 5% at the brewpub. Weak dusty aroma. Hazy golden colour. No head. The flavour is also slightly dusty. Slightly grainy finish. OK, but not as clean as a Kölsch should be.

Spicy and light medicine aroma. Hazy light golden color with a small white head. Light flavor all around gets a mild bitter finish,

On tap at the brewpub. Malty aroma, soft hops, bready flavor, metallic/mineral finish. Pretty ordinary Kolsch.

Malty aroma with a soft fruit essence, golden, small white head. More malt flavour than the nose. Light bodied, balanced, crisp, clean. Good, but hardly a Kolsch.

In short: A rich full body blonde lager of some kind. Really nice session beer.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy yellow body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is a bit lemony and with plenty of flowers and a strange but not unpleasant wet cat. The full body packs a lot of cereals. Banana cake, wild flowers, some lemony tartness. Nourishing crunchy sensation. This is an easy drinking beer that is both nourishing and refreshing. Not quite as clean (and frankly less boring) as what I understand of the Kolsch style but I don’t care. This beer has many of the features I expect from a good session blonde beer and none of those I expect from a good power-drill.

Aroma fruity , off malty aroma that is lacking crispness , and clean character of true Kolsch. 4-
Appearance golden with noted carbonation. Light top.
Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied. Character of amber-golden malt. Sides of honey with soft mid. None of lager crispness with clean palate. Poor golden ale perhaps but not Kolsch.

(Rating #3048)
