3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
In short: A very tasty little rustic blond Saison with a sharp dryness and a generous hopping. Good beer
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy yellow-blonde body topped by a small white head leaving good lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is unmistakably rustic, sun dried straw, a zest of lemon. Taste has a lot of dry straws, a slice of lime, dry lemon skin, fresh bananas, dried bananas, yellowed dry grass. Finish is nicely dry, medium acidity, moderately tart and is accompanied by a dry grassy bitterness. Bitterness level was pretty high for the style but somehow fit the beer very well. This 4.2% beer is not a watered down Saison, this was actually very flavorful and nourishing while remaining highly drinkable as it should. I would have preferred a little less acidity but this is nonetheless a very nice summer beer. This is a small beer that is obviously not getting much love on ratebeer, but I stand for what I believe in, and I stood up a few times to get another pint because I believe this was a very good beer.
