Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. The entire line is served properly with cellar-like temperature, and lower carbonation. Blond colour and lacey. Bitter and spicey finish. A nice one.

[524-20070811] Tap @ Cheval Blanc (Montréal, QC, called ’Jalepeno’). Aroma is a very floral perfume with spicy juniper berry. Clear, very pale yellow body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Same floral perfume in the flavour is hopped up on some strange spice and citrus notes. Light-medium body is smooth. Interesting to try, was expecting something spicier to live up to its name.

(Rating #720)

Pours a slightly cloudy golden color, the head is thin and white. Aroma of hot peppers including jalapenos, it’s just right, not too aggressive. Good flavor of hot peppers, the peppers are present but not aggressive and overly hot as other hot pepper beers can be, it’s very decent for what it is. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation.

Clear pale yellow beer with a minimal white head. Faint malt aroma, not peppery. Light malt taste with very overbearing jalapeno peppers, tingling, veering on black pepper. Thin bodied. Why another pepper beer???On tap, summer 2005.

Pours a very pale blonde clear and thin head. Mild chilli pepper aroma and taste but overall is pretty bland. Towards the end you get a bit more hot spices. Very delicate beer.

Golden color, thin white head. aroma is mostly of pepper with some light malt underneath. Peppery flavor along with some graininess, the graininess being somewhat unpleasant. It leaves soem heat in you mouth well after drinking. Not bad but the base beer is not so nice.

Draught at the brewpub
Clear yellow no head, no lacing. Nose of nice pepper, some fresh peppers (chile with an e), some hops. The flavor is balanaced, some heat but balanced and remarcablty smooth for a beer like this.

An unclear orange beer with a disappearing, but lazing white head. The aroma is vaguely wheaty, while the flavor is malty with a slight touch of wheat.
