Aroma is quite smoky, meaty, auburn, small tan head. Flavour is very smoky, with bacon and sausage notes. Medium bodied, very nicely balanced, pleasantly drinkable. Terrific!

Aroma medium smoky aroma covered by creamy character. Hint of butter and black malts.6+
Appearance almost black with hint of amber-brown at edges. Large creamy fine beige top.
Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied , dry carbonation behind. Roast if Inka coffee , molasses with creamy earthy smoke. Not best in Smoked beer world.

Pours a cloudy reddish amber color with a medium white head. Pleasant aroma of smoked and toasted malt. Interesting flavor of smoked, toasted malt with some caramel, it has a vienna feel but with smoke added, there’s some bitterness in the end. The body is medium with a creamy texture and medium carbonation. The smoky part isn’t very strong compared to Schlenkerla products, but it’s still a very interesting beer.

Objectively speaking:
Unagressive rauchbeer that does not venture too far in the smokey territories.
I like:
I’m glad they finally tried a rauchbeer.
I dislike:
Remove the smoke and I feel like the beer would be dull indeed: frail-bodied, almost headless and one-dimensional (almost no fruitiness). A bit rough in the finish. Not very supple and quitting with a fair does of bitterness akin to burnt caramel, but with a leafy component.

(Rating #1765)
