Aroma is predominantly citrus-lemon with some wheat malt character. Hazy dark straw colour with thin cover of white head that recedes with some patchy lacing. Surprisingly strongly hopped flavour though bitterness is not overwhelming. Some dark malts with plenty of citrus tones. Very multi-faceted and interesting flavour. Engaging carbonation and medium-light body. On tap at the brewpub.

Dégustée en fût sur place. De couleur ambrée et semi-voilée. Nez de levures fruitées (agrumes), moyennement malté de caramel, léger de blé avec des notes de houblon herbeux et des traces de pain. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture aux faibles notes crémeuses. Goût de levures fruitées (agrumes, traces d’abricots) accompagné de petites notes de grains de malt rôti lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un moyen goût de blé aux faibles notes asséchantes et sûres ainsi qu’un léger goût de caramel avec des traces de pain puis en finale l’on retrouve une légère amertume de houblon herbeux aux petites notes florales. Post-goût moyen, légèrement amer de houblon herbeux avec des notes fruitées (zest d’agrumes) et de blé. (hiver 2006-07)

Bu sur place en fut (12 oz). Jaune dorée, mince collet. Arome de blé sucré, soupson de malte caramelisé. Goût très légé de blé trop vieilli et le brasseur le sait. Je vais le reboire!

Hazy amber-orangeish hue with an off-white head, yeasty peppery nose, with a faint peaches, raw wheaten note, with a subtle spicy aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty raw malty character, with a hint of toasty cereals, minimal hop impression, not was i expected of an amber weizen, almost no fruitiness nor spicy notes, lack of complexity.

En fût. Verre de 12 oz à la brasserie. Arôme: Arôme d’agrumes avec une pointe d’épices. Apparence: La couleur est ambrée légèrement voilée avec une faible densité de bulle. Présence d’un moyen col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de malt et d’agrumes. Courte durée de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de caramel en arrière goût. (Rating #874)

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2007 The Lure:
From a commercially appealing transparent golden amber skin emanates proud coriander spiciness and sedentary citrus fruit. They are sometimes visited by a light apricot sweetness, but are not quite enthused by its presence.

The Festivities:
Earthy malt grounds the unforeseen hop bitterness and the pleasant but frail wheat crunch. Body is lacking nourishment but still renders satisfying flavor combinations and drinkability. Coriander is well integrated throughout.

Transcendence:
A sporadic breeze ruffles the hair of a silent plaza gazer. An unprovoked swig follows, never breaking his thoughtwaves.

Straw yellow with no apparent carbonation. Faint head leaves a trace. Good wheaty aroma and soft yeast blend through a citrusy foreground. Excellent sweet/dry balance is enhanced by the biting crisp mouthfeel. Not so tasty, but eminently refreshing and with the typical Cheval Blanc mineral component that fits charmingly here.

Golden ale with no head. Lightly chlorinated smeel, but malt comes out weel , with citrusy hops. Fresh malts and good hoppiness, lightly floral with biscuity notes. Medium pleasant body, with a good balance. Tigg, the chalk board indicated 4.5%.
