3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Quevillon (2014) - Sainte-Thérèse, - DEC 5, 2011
Drank on tap (14 oz only) at the brewpub on December 4, 2011. Hazy golden honey, thin head. Citrus hop aroma, spicy berries, a little malty. Taste sour and juicy citrus, notes of dry herbs, slightly bitter. An improved version of the other Saison Noël!

In short: A strange fruity and slightly spicy amber ale of some kind. Decent.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy orange-amber body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose is fruity with the likes of passion fruits, rustic character is a bit of leather. Taste is a bit strange, fruity (red apples and others non-specific fruity flavors), acrid, oily cereals, flowers, spiciness, very light rustic notes, slender body, medium carbonation. A bunch of falvors bundled together that create a somewhat unfocussed amber ale of some kind. Not what I expect from a Saison and I’m not sure what this beer is aiming for. Not a bad beer at all but I had high hopes for this one so I was a bit disappointed. Another beer I had sitting alone by myself at Cheval Blanc, the cheapest brewpub in town, because I’m like a baby carrot, I’m cheap and boring and I’ll never grow up.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 lefossoyeur (274) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 14, 2011
Golden copper topped by a creamy lasting white head. Nice and complex fruity-spicy aromas with hints of tart fruits and herbaceous hops. Medium carbonation, big ample mouth, fruity flavors, a bit of tartness, with a fresh pine forest impression. Finishing on a bitter note that dries the mouth off. Nice, complex, almost dry, long finish. Good saison!

(Rating #4055)
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Marheb (675) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 11, 2011
Bon bouquet d’épices fourni par la levure avec un courant fruité, sûr probablement dû à la pomme grenade. Ce qu’on attend d’une saison, sans plus.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Lubiere (7003) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 29, 2011
A hazed golden amber ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, a superb spiced malt with light incense, curacao, light coriander, and faint Brett. In mouth, a nice sweet crisp malt with light herbal orange peels, light coriander, oily mouth feel, nice and smooth. On tap at brewpub, Nov. 25 2011.
