pint @ pub. Pours dark as it should. The aroma was roasty with some caramel in the back. The taste was a little bitter, but that might have been the roastyness coming through. This is a very nice beer and goes well with sausages and sour kraut.

A deep black schwarz with a thin moka head. A nice peaty aroma of coffee, chocolate with light cinnamon notes. In mouth, herbal torrefied coffee, grainy, bitter chocolate, not bad, veering on a porter. On tap at brewpub, Feb. 12 2010.

Dark ruby, almost black, topped by a generous and lasting brownish head. Aromas are fruity (red grapes) and a hint of cocoa. Medium body, pretty malty, a little bit grainy, finishes with bitter cocoa notes. Easy drinking and refreshing dark lager.

(Rating #2889)
